Thanksgiving Wear

This year we are hosting our family for Thanksgiving in Boston. Since we are dining out I am torn about what to wear this year. Considering the holiday is one that is based around indulgence in delicious stuffing, mashed potatoes and pie. I would say it's safe to say key is comfort. While most of us would be thrilled to be in our loosest of clothing I put together three looks that will help hide your Thanksgiving food baby wether it be under a loose blouse, a comfortable sweater or a ruffled dress  :).

Holiday Gift Guide - For Your Best Friend

As I have gotten older my circle of friends has definitely gotten smaller. I have learned {sometimes the hard way} to surround yourself only with the people who make you happy, bring a positive light into your life and are there for you the same way you are for them. I am a big believer in quality over quantity so I put together a little gift guide for inspiration to let your favorite friend know how much they mean to you!

Throw a grown up slumber party and wear matching pajamas and slippers. Stay up late eating snacks, drinking wine & laughing till your stomachs hurt.

An extra large coffee cup or this cute mug for those caffeine driven friends.

A fun key chain/bag charm with their initial and tassel for extra sass.

This sweatshirt is the new awesome friendship bracelet.

For your wine loving gal, these pretty bottles, glasses, tote & corkscrew are the cutest pairings or perfect on their own.

Got a bestie who lives far away? How about some pretty pens & personalized paper to keep in touch the old fashioned way.

This little wallet is adorable for your bubbly loving friend.

Fill this trinket box with a little baubles likes this bracelet or these earrings

Got a friend who loves to be in the kitchen? This Mexico cookbook is bright & beautiful. I love it paired with these colorful dipped spoons

For the gal who like a pop of color in her accessories, these bright colored clutches are the perfect finishing touch.

Covered Up

It may be snowing AGAIN outside but I can't help dream of summer and the carefree fashions that go along with it. While we were away in St. Barth's I was so inspired by the colorful island style that surrounded me. It had me craving more breezy casual clothing, living in your bathing suit all day and life on the beach. One trend that I was all about was the comfortable beach pant and jumpsuits {wearing this one in that last photo}. It was so easy to throw on pants over my bathing suit and head to the pool or the beach without any effort. So I created four looks featuring just that, one bathing suit {I always prefer a one piece} that is perfectly coordinated with beach pants, jumpsuit and all beachwear accoutrement. So whether your stockpiling for summer like moi or planning a warm weather getaway, now is the time to get your favorite looks before they are gone!

Color Crush - Blush

Anyone else dreaming of Spring? I can't believe I am going to admit it but I am getting so tired of my all black wardrobe and am longing to add some color back into my life {who am I writing such things}. Whether it be something for the home or the closet, I am in that moment of the winter where everything is just blah! While blush is hardly a daring color to incorporate into your style, I am still a huge fan of it. This feminine hue pairs oh so well with darker tones like black, navy and gray and while I reach for this color more in the warmer months it can work year round and has been huge in outwear this winter. A little round up of my blush colored favorites are below.

Holiday Gift Guide - Monogrammed Mania

I love a personalized gift. It really shows the recipient you've taken the time to make the gift super special. However, time is often needed to allow for the customization to take place. That is unless you gift something - pre-monogrammed like an initial. I put together a few of my favorite monogrammed gifts below in a little holiday guide round up for those who love a bespoke gift as much as I do.

Holiday Gift Guide - Under $50

Let's face it the holidays can be stressful. I personally get overwhelmed thinking of the perfect gift to give to all my loved ones and putting together these gift guides definitely helps me narrow it down. When you are buying for a lot of people it's important to not break the bank so I put together a little round up fabulous gifts that are well under $50. They are perfect for stockings, friends and family or just a little treat for yourself. Happy Shopping!

Untitled #703

three - This spike & stud ring is perfect for the gal who wants to add a subtle edge to her look.
four - Darling Magazine is not only beautiful to browse but the message of empowering woman as they are is an added bonus.

six - It's all about me me me me - love this "me" trinket box to hold your little treasures.
seven - I love playing cards with friends, especially when wine is involved.

nine - I love everything wishbone & this jewelry holder is no exception.
ten & eleven - I love having a set of gift cards for personal notes to friends & family. I also adore the special added touch of closing them with a monogrammed wax seal.
twelve - Bring on the confetti & decorate your phone for the holidays with this cute tech case.
thirteen - These suede pouches are perfect for use as a clutch or throwing in your purse to keep things organized. I am especially loving the monogram option too!
fourteen - Sometimes the little decor items can be the finishing touch on a space & these little spikey urchins are a perfect pair for a shelf, desk or coffee table.
fifteen - My husband insists on a key chain that doesn't make noise next to the keys & this leather tassel key chain fits the bill perfectly & available in a slew of colors.
sixteen - This striped wine bag is too cute for use over & over again. I would fill it with a nice bottle of vino & you have a great gift under $50. Really excellent for a host or hostess too!

The Colors of Autumn

I am so happy I live in a part of the country that has a full four seasons. Ok...ok, I admit come January I am 100% hating on winter and begging my husband to take me away to warmer climates but September - December has by far got to be my favorite months in New England. Boston was made for this time of year...the falling leaves perfectly coordinate with the old brick buildings and the  mild temps are just right for strolling around comfortably. While I find my closet is consumed by lots of black and white, I do love the colors that are inspired by fall and look forward to embracing the warmer hues all season long.  So bring on the rich golds, forest greens, pumpkin oranges, burgundy's and navy's... I want to see & wear it all! A little round up of my fall favorites are below.

Sign Of The Times

While popping in a few of the local boutiques on Nantucket I cam across the lovely mother of pearl zodiac necklaces below. I was quickly smitten with them even though I am not one to truly follow the  signs of the stars or their meanings etc. I simply loved their style and the layering option of adding a loved ones sign on top of yours. It's sort of the spiritual sister to the initial necklace trend that I also love. I put together a little round up of some other zodiac items ranging from beauty items to home decor.

Cash or Credit - Totes

In important news, has anyone seen the atrociousness that was gifted to Kim K by her man this Christmas? The $40,000 hand painted Birkin bag is the work of American artist George Condo, who previously worked on some album covers for Yeezy. Thankfully this bag is one of a kind, because do we really need more then one bag painted with naked women with monster faces?! In an article I read online, one person summarized this bag perfectly..."it has the aesthetic appeal of a tragic car accident". For those of us that do not have or would ever spend that kind of money on a bag, I put together a little cash or credit round up of totes that are worth carrying around at all different price points.

Weekend Wear - The Real Deal

I always enjoy putting together the weekend wear posts. They not only serve a purpose for my own inspiration with clothing I already have in my closet but they allow me to find items that I am coveting at great prices like that coat below. I have been craving a parka for New England's chilly winters but have yet to pull the trigger on purchasing one. Today's post just might motivate me to do so. While I love sharing outfits that boast beautiful high heels or feminine details like lace, what you will usually find me in is my favorite denim with a silk blouse and my favorite comfy flats.  I always opt for a cross-body bag for strolling around the city to keep my hands free and some simple jewelry, including the little diamond studs I have had since I was sixteen. So I thought I would keep it real and share an outfit inspired by my real weekend wear would look like.

Thank you for reading & have a great weekend!

Cash or Credit - Rose Gold

Growing up, silver was all the rage. Everything I had to adorn my wrists, lobes and neck had to be silver and nothing else. As I got older I appreciated yellow gold more and more as I felt it worked with my fair complexion and as Tina Fey calls it "yellow hair". Now everywhere I go I am spotting more and more accessories in a metallic blush color. I have always thought rose gold was super pretty, especially in a tricolor combination with white and yellow gold, but this pinky hue doesn't need it's older sisters around to make it stand out. Check out some of the ways to incorporate this trend into your style with some fabulous rose gold accessories with similar looks but at two very different price points.

shoe savvy

Every Spring I hunt for the perfect nude sandal that can be worn with jeans as well as dresses. While I know exactly what I want, I don't know why it has been nearly impossible to find it in stores. I want something with a modest heel as I walk all around the city in heels and cannot be on stilts, something versatile for day and night as well as the right color tan that will go with everything. My top picks for a great neutral sandal are listed below... I know I have a favorite, do you???

Have Yourself A Sparkly New Years Eve!!!

After two years of spending New Years Eve out with friends we decided this year to stay in and spend a quiet night at home just the two of us. We will be cooking ourselves a fabulous dinner and indulging on some very expensive champagne gifted to us that we have been saving for a special occasion. While we are staying in and likely not seeing anyone but each-other I have a feeling some sparkle will make it into my wardrobe. If we were going out...below is likely what I would wear...what are you wearing this New Years Eve???

Cross My Heart

I used to tease my mom about her go to style of only wearing a cross body purse. I never understood why she refused to try another style or go for a large oversized hobo bag like the ones her daughters were obsessed with. Now that I live in the city, I am eating my words and cannot get enough of this style. I can wrap it over my ensemble to keep my hands free for carrying groceries, shopping or keeping my paws in my pockets in the cooler months. I also adore this convenience for going out, allowing me to keep my hands on my cocktail and not having to worry about a place to put down my bag {or getting stolen} while dancing or mingling. I selected a few looks at some great price points, that are both functional and stylish in a slew of colors...Which is your favorite???

now & later

I never want to wish away the summer. It is most definitely my favorite time of year! However since August showed up in a hot second and all the fall fashions are hitting the shelves I thought I would try to demonstrate on how you can incorporate a summer dress into your fall wardrobe. I chose a white lace skater dress as the base of the outfit. It not only screams summer because of its color but also something no one would likely purchase for their fall wardrobe. In the warmer months I paired it with a lot of navy, my favorite color combination keeping the look casual and relaxed for a perfect summery day to night look. While most people tend to wear a lot of brown colors in their fall wardrobe, I decided to go with black and give this girly lace dress a rocker edge by adding a studded belt, black opaque tights and a very cool waterfall suede jacket that will most definitely get some serious mileage in your wardrobe {perfect for jeans & LBD's}. I love adding tights to summer dresses to give them a second life in a different season and changing out a great belt can give your overall look an entirely new vibe. What do you think, would you wear these looks???

Color Crush - Coral

Lately I have become utterly obsessed with the color coral in all it's forms. Whether you are displaying this color in your home with a nod to nautical like the rope pouf below or wearing it on your nails in a gorgeous summery coral {I got Cajun Shrimp on my nails last night & love}, this color is beautiful head to hem. Orange has always been a favorite hue but combining it with a dash of pink and boom you have the most gorgeous coral color. It is definitely my go to for a fresher more amped up version of the color orange for warmer weather. Just look how gorgeous this color looks in the images below....plus some stylish coral buys for your wardrobe & home.
