This year we are hosting our family for Thanksgiving in Boston. Since we are dining out I am torn about what to wear this year. Considering the holiday is one that is based around indulgence in delicious stuffing, mashed potatoes and pie. I would say it's safe to say key is comfort. While most of us would be thrilled to be in our loosest of clothing I put together three looks that will help hide your Thanksgiving food baby wether it be under a loose blouse, a comfortable sweater or a ruffled dress :).

Winter Wear
Happy New Year friends, I hope you had a fabulous holiday break! It seems as though winter is finally upon us here in Boston and it's time to officially put away my flats and welcome warmer winter wear into our wardrobes. I personally loathe having to dress in a billion layers, wear clunky boots and a puffy jacket that pretty much adds thirty pounds to you frame but I might as well quit my bitching and try to make the best of the next few frigid months with some cute outwear, boots & accessories. I put together a few looks that I love for all different occasions but I also tagged a bunch more cold weather gear in the links below.

Flat Out
I gotta be honest, I love me some heels and always prefer how they look compared to anything else but unless I am going out on a date with my man, a girls night out in the city or some sort of social event you will always find me in flats. While I have already shared some of my favorite ways to break in some new shoes, I wanted to tell you about my new favorite product Compeed that has saved my heels & toes when wearing some new flats this fall. This magical second skin adheres to your heels preventing blisters to ever happen. They are a total lifesaver with new shoes, pick up a pair & try them...your feet will be eternally grateful.
{p.s., this is not a paid product ad, I just am completely obsessed with this product}

Trendspotting - Delicate Layering
Morning friends! You may have recall previous posts about layering statement necklaces here & here, but today I want to leave the bold baubles behind and talk about the lighter more dainty version of the layered look. Wearing multiple necklaces at once, finding the perfect blend of lengths and coordination of metals can be a bit of a challenge. Don't even get me started on the tangling repercussions of all of the above. So when I started noticing brands were making the layered look simple with styles that have it all done for you all in one clasp, I was sold. I did a little round up of my favorites below and I am happy to report these are all super affordable under $100!

one $36 // two $56 // three $36 // four {also here} $58 // five $70 {two colors avail} // six $30
my takes on the layering look

Flattering Flats
Living in the city means a lot of walking around town and heels are definitely not a friend of the broken sidewalks of our little historic neighborhood. I recently picked up these two pairs of flats trying to replace my old favorites {available here in other colors} that are literally worn through the sole and I am having trouble on which pair to keep. I personally love the look of the d'Orsay style with it's pointy toe and open middle. Just feels a bit more dressy then the typical ballet flat. It's perfect for the warmer weather and available in a plethora of prints, materials and colors. A little round up of some my favorites are below.

Bombshell
I was literally stopped in my tracks when I saw Kate Upton on the cover of Vogue this month. This American beauty first stood out to me when she graced the cover of Sports Illustrated and the fact that so many critics said she was a "heavier" then some other SI models of the past left me flabergasted. This clearly infuriated me as this was the furthest thing from the truth. What I saw was an all american bombshell who resembled another style icon of the past. Then Vogue got their pretty little hands on her and created a stunning photo-shoot with incredible fashion and the correct heading. While she wears some of my favorite designers in this issue like Matthew Williamson, Stella McCartney, Givenchy and so on. I thought I would create some looks inspired by the shoot to help recreate this fabulous style without going bankrupt.

if all bad outfits could be forgot...part 3
Sparkle and shine this new years in the beauty below. I seriously love anything sparkly all year long but the dress below really is beyond gorgeous. I would wear it with a fab faux fur jacket, suede pumps, and simple crystal jewels. A smokey eye and nude lip for make up will be sexy and perfect for that midnight kiss!
