Pillow Talk - Part 2 - Room to Outfit

One of my favorite features on the blog is the room to outfit posts. Today I decided to create a look from the ahhhhmazing portfolio of Caitlin Wilson Interiors who I featured  my pillow crush on earlier today. I came across the photo below and knew I wanted this gorgeous dining room would make an incredible outfit and the color palette is perfection for this time of year. I am DYING over those floors & velvet chairs - swoon.

Dressed Up Casual

Casual clothes have a whole new life this season with some dressed up elements. Whether is be a touch of sparkle with a glitter accent or a tuxedo stripe to stretchy denim, your go to pieces for laying around have gone full on glam. I particularly love the jeweled embellishments on the sweatshirt, I would pair it with some destroyed denim and flats for a perfectly chic weekend look. Which is your favorite???

Drop Everything

Once again history is repeating itself in the world of fashion. This past summer we saw this displayed  on the beaches with swimwear inspired from the fifties. However today's fashion post is a throwback to the likes of the roaring twenties with the drop waist dress. This uber feminine silhouette has been on my radar since I purchased this Loft dress. I would never have thought this look would be for me but I am loving it! The elongated bodice makes you look taller and slimmer {who doesn't want that on their side???} and the shorter frilly skirt at the hem keeps the overall look playful but sophisticated. Moving into the cooler months in New England means I would likely wear these little numbers with some opaque tights and a dressed up ankle bootie topped off with a blazer to have a complete polished look that can get you from day to night no problemo!

lovely lace

I couldn't be happier that lace is a huge hit no matter the season.  I just adore it and cannot get enough. It's always uber feminine and luxurious. It instantly dresses up jeans and looks great in all different colors, I am especially smitten with the neon lace {like that yellow number below} that is so trendy this summer season. Below are a few of my favorite lace finds that you can dress up or down depending on your day. Always at all different price points - just click the images at the bottom to go get yours - enjoy!

room to outfit

Bathroom for outfit inspiration - not possible, right? Well I couldn't resist the challenge and after seeing those Missoni inspired floors I knew exactly what I wanted to do with this glamorous room. Every little detail in this lux bathroom is complete decadence. Designed by Kirsten Kelli who I used in the Seaside Chic post created the below bathroom with the cavernous ceilings and gilded hardware. I don't think anything this fancy will ever be in a home I own but I sure would like to live in this picture for a bit to imagine just how lovely a glass of wine and a bath in that carrera marble tub would be.

The Room

I could have easily interpreted the above image into a full on glam slam look. I however wanted to challenge myself and take this chic bathroom and turn into something equally fabulous but more everyday!

animal instincts

On my first date with my now husband he told me that when we had initially met at work I was walking around the office in a stealth like manner (I was his landlord in a commercial office space) in my leopard heels which earned  me the nickname Tigress. Then being the studious individual he is, he went on in detail to tell me about the history of the "saber tooth tigress" and how I reminded him of this extinct creature, tell me now - what girl wouldn’t want to hear that on a first date! Without going on too much about what happened next let’s just say it gave us a good laugh and I have been stamped with this nickname till this day. This leads me to a very current trend I have always adored – animal prints. Maybe it’s my Long Island roots in me that has always loved this style or that it's readily available in so many styles the past few years, I just cant seem to get enough.  The only thing with this particular pattern is that I think it needs to be done in small doses. No one wants to see a animal prints head to toe. You will either look like an actual tigress or a stuffed animal, neither are a winning look.  Below are some fabulous finds that I think are just the right amount of animal prints needed to turn a blah ensemble bold, just remember to wear one piece at a time. Part two will have some pretty images on pairing this print in your wardrobe!

the saber tooth tigress - pretty huh???

the hubs left me alone last night to attend a work dinner, so naturally I went to the mall & brought home these babies
(a special thank you to my Aunt Barbs for my Christmas gift card that allowed me to purchase them)

if all bad outfits could be forgot...part 3

Sparkle and shine this new years in the beauty below. I seriously love anything sparkly all year long but the dress below really is beyond gorgeous. I would wear it with a fab faux fur jacket, suede pumps, and simple crystal jewels. A smokey eye and nude lip for make up will be sexy and perfect for that midnight kiss!
