The Denim Sweatpant

I'm pretty sure everyone has seen the commercial for pajama jeans and its selling point allure of wearing pants that are as comfortable as sweatpants. I always thought the concept was hilarious in that they never looked like actual denim, then I realized the joke was on me as some major designers are actually making sweatpants that look like actual denim. I think I will be passing on this trend and opt for actual denim but I couldn't help inquiring if I was the only one feeling that way???

A Neutral New Years

I already shared some fabulous one stop shopping on throwing a chic New Years Eve party but what to wear to the festivities is worthy of another post. Since we are keeping it casual at a friends house this year, I thought I would put together a little look that is full of glam but also not over the top decked out. What are you doing & wearing this New Years Eve???

Weekend Wear - Neutrals

Last weekend I picked up that gorgeous sequin jacket below and have been staring at it in my closet everyday, waiting for the perfect occasion to wear it to. To say I am obsessed with it would be an understatement. It was definitely a splurge for me but I felt I could love it forever and don't you think your closet should have one or two really awesome statement pieces? I do and this is one of them for me! The neutral colors in the matte gold sequins and the blush chiffon base made me think that styling this with anything but other neutrals would just take away from the jackets splendor. I originally tried it on with some destroyed denim and loved it so I know I will be pairing it with a more casual bottom but like most of my looks, I love to accessorize with some beautiful things and that double ring might just be one the coolest things ever. I need it in my life ASAP.

Clutch Heaven

I love the idea of mixing high end items along with more budget friendly items to keep your look on trend without costing a small fortune. So when I saw Gap's new line of stylish clutches, I knew this was the perfect example of showing just how to do it. I just adore the selection bright colors, variety of styles with the over-sized envelope, petite zipper clutch with tassel and the beloved color-blocked. Which is your favorite???

Clear Clutch Outfit Inspiration

I have been thinking about how I would style the lucite clutch featured on the blog earlier today and felt that it needed some lux items to accompany the simplicity of the bag. I love the look below for a date night or drinks out with the girls. Would you wear a clear clutch???

style steals

Let's face it, most blogs out there feature all heavenly items that are just not realistically priced for the everyday gal or guy. I am guilty of it too. I mean who doesn't love a luxurious item to day dream about and treat yourself too every now and then but when it comes down to it, most items we all own and wear each day have to be wallet friendly. I compiled a list of some of my favorite styles that are all under $125 but don't look it one bit. Everything is summer themed to help add a little fun to your warmer weather wardrobe...enjoy!

room to outfit

Bathroom for outfit inspiration - not possible, right? Well I couldn't resist the challenge and after seeing those Missoni inspired floors I knew exactly what I wanted to do with this glamorous room. Every little detail in this lux bathroom is complete decadence. Designed by Kirsten Kelli who I used in the Seaside Chic post created the below bathroom with the cavernous ceilings and gilded hardware. I don't think anything this fancy will ever be in a home I own but I sure would like to live in this picture for a bit to imagine just how lovely a glass of wine and a bath in that carrera marble tub would be.

The Room

I could have easily interpreted the above image into a full on glam slam look. I however wanted to challenge myself and take this chic bathroom and turn into something equally fabulous but more everyday!

are boyfriends for you???

The jeans that is. I recently tried on a pair of AG "ex-boyfriend" jeans on at Bloomingdale's and seriously couldn't get them off fast enough. They made me look about 2 feet shorter and about 20 pounds heaver - double whammy of negativity.  I was so confused on how this could be as I really adore this look every time I see them on a blog or on some fashionista around town. However on moi - its was total fashion roadkill.  I truly believe this style can one hundred percent help or hurt you depending on your body type but in my opinion, I find that this look is meant for the ladies without the curves and more for the straight figured gals. Take a look at some of my favorite boyfriend looks below and see what I mean. If you love this look too, shop the fab styles as seen in the stylish images that I scoured the web for to display this very hot trend!

tie dyed & gone to heaven

Flashback Summer 1990 and tie dye was all the rage??? I remember riding my bike to the five a dime (shout out to Suffolk Stores for all West Islip readers) and buying a few different boxes of Rid dyes and then rubber banding the hell out of some gap t-shirts to create my own work of art in the driveway with a hose a and a bucket. The only problem was my patience. I always took the rubber bands off too soon to see my stylish creation and the colors would all bleed into one another, never mind my hands and usually my white canvas kids would fall victim to the dye and more then just the T-shirt would be ruined. As I am older and hopefully a tad more wiser I will leave the art of tie dyeing to the designers and purchase the goods perfectly streaked, blended & dip dyed so all that is left is styling your work of art clothing. Below are a few looks that I think are to dye for (pun intended).
