I put together a little outfit inspiration for a look for less that I like to call cash or credit. I just love the color combination of this army green with the pink faux fur hood. This year we are hosting our family for Thanksgiving in Boston. Since we are dining out I am torn about what to wear this year. Considering the holiday is one that is based around indulgence in delicious stuffing, mashed potatoes and pie. I would say it's safe to say key is comfort. While most of us would be thrilled to be in our loosest of clothing I put together three looks that will help hide your Thanksgiving food baby wether it be under a loose blouse, a comfortable sweater or a ruffled dress :).
Confession, I loathe boots. I know, I know...I am weird. I also hate socks but will save that for another day {or more importantly not even bore you with that another day}. You will find me always wearing my beloved flats till the first snowflake falls. I refuse to be in those torture chambers a second sooner that I have to be. However living in Boston means I lose my battle with the boot pretty early on and will succumb to shoes that will protect my piggies from being numb. Thankfully this season there are a plethora of boots that offer style and function. What a concept! I rounded up my top three in each category to get you covered from a chic knee boot to an adorable waterproof suede bootie as well as the essential snow boot for our annual blizzards in these parts.

The tie neck {I refuse to call it what it's actual name is} is a major trend happening in everything from dresses to blouses. Just this week I wore this style with this dress. I plan on living in silk blouses, comfy flats & denim all fall. If we are friends on Instagram you probably have seen a bit of a green trend happening in my wardrobe. I can't stop gravitating to this earthy color and have been loving it as my neutral for the upcoming fall season. Not only does it look great with pale pink, dark pink, rusty hues and golds but I just feel like it works it looks great on all skin tones. I used to only associate floral prints and patterns with Spring fashion. It honestly never occurred to me that with a swift change of a color palette that floral designs would work so well come the autumnal season. I adore the more moody tones of a floral print on an ivory or black backdrop and the rich berry tones that I have been seeing out in the shops. I rounded up a few of my favorite fall florals that will easily take your wardrobe into the season. I am personally loving them in accessories like these gorgeous Coach bags & those cute embroidered pumps with the block heel. I don't know about you but I cannot wait for a less busy schedule, cozy nights in, making comfort foods and getting snuggled up in blankets again. However I know come January I will be singing a different tune...per usual.
I remember in my early twenties when slip camisoles were the hottest style out there. I loved pairing them with a cropped ballet sweater and some denim, that outfit always made me feel sexy without revealing too much. While that look may be retired for me these days I do love the look of lingerie style items that are made for wearing anytime. Whether it be an item trim med in eyelash lace or a dress with a silky nightgown silhouette, there is something that draws me in which inspired todays cash or credit.
I sort of hate myself for thinking of fall fashion when the summer season is still so fun and full of life. I honestly haven't picked up a single thing for the autumn but that doesn't mean my wish list isn't growing by the day. When it comes to dressing for the cooler weather I alway like to build my wardrobe on quality basics. A great blazer will get some serious wear before the cold weather really hits. It's a clean cut and so perfectly preppy with it's popped collar and rich navy coloring {several other colors available}.
When it comes to shoes, I tend to splurge a bit. I love a quality flat as they get worn the most with city living. I absolutely love a stylish flat in a sassy leopard print for adding a little pattern to a basic outfit. A great looking black bootie is also a must have for me, I adore the pointy toe on this pair. Finally the scalloped edges on this pump have me weak in the knees. I just love the sweet simplicity style of these suede babies. They look great with dresses, skirts, denim and so much more.
Accessories are my favorite things to shop for. Whether it be a great hand bag{my absolute favorite thing to buy} or some pretty jewelry, I always like to keep it rather simple. A gold hoop is my go to most days and when I want something more I'll add in a statement earring. A great watch is a must and a clutch in a fun pattern or print is a great way to elevate an otherwise simple outfit. Finally a stylish scarf to wear around your neck or tied to your bag and definitely don't forget to add some classic aviators for those sunny yet cool days.
There are quite a few trends that are taking place this summer but off the shoulder tops and dresses are surely ruling the fashion world. I have always loved this look even if it was a top that only revealed one shoulder but have always dreaded the strapless bra that was required to wear the look. Until I found this baby that is perfect for us gals with a little more chest then the rest. So in honor of my favorite trend and an outfit I am actually wearing today{similar version here}.
