There are quite a few trends that are taking place this summer but off the shoulder tops and dresses are surely ruling the fashion world. I have always loved this look even if it was a top that only revealed one shoulder but have always dreaded the strapless bra that was required to wear the look. Until I found this baby that is perfect for us gals with a little more chest then the rest. So in honor of my favorite trend and an outfit I am actually wearing today {similar version here}. Memorial Day Sales

Happy Friday friends...I hope you all are off to somewhere fabulous to enjoy the long weekend! We are staying in the city and will be taking it easy. While I love to be on the go, there is something so luxurious about a staycation, where you don't have to pack a bag and you get to sleep in your own bed. gifted

I love giving gifts, everything from the brainstorming on what to get, the joy of shopping, and then the best part the actual giving to that special person. Start to finish it all makes me giddy. This leads to today's post on a little gift giving inspiration along with an easy breezy DIY. Back in New York where I grew up, most wedding showers had a wishing well where you brought a small domestic token for the bride to be. I always gave something off the registry but I love the idea of gifting something a little more unique and thoughtful. This also could work for a wonderful housewarming or hostess gift or even a favor at a stylish soiree.

I held the area that wasn't getting painted with a paper towel and sprayed the opposite end till dry

Thirsty Thursday - Cranberry Cocktail Spritzer

Nantucket is known for many things, beautiful shingle style homes, hydrangea covered lawns, cobblestone streets, whaling and cranberries to just name a few. Naturally this weeks cocktail had to be inspired by these things as we are at the tail end of our vacation. What I love about this one is that the cranberry vodka has such great flavor by itself that the cocktail only needs a splash of cranberry juice for color and a little added flavor. It is a light, refreshing and all the ingredients are from New England, definitely my favorite cocktail when on this magical little island.

Ingredients

1 oz Nantucket Triple 8 Cranberry Vodka

Splash of Nantucket Nectars Big Cranberry Juice

1/2 cup Poland Springs Lime Seltzer

Fresh Lime Wedge for garnish

Directions

Stir & Serve over ice

gowns galore

Award season is here which means most woman will be tuning in Sunday nights to watch the red carpet coverage so we can all ooh and ahhh over all the fabulous gowns the stars are wearing. I always wanted to host a party where my friends and I would get all dressed up in best duds and watch the Oscars. Because let's face it real life doesn't have many places where you can wear a ball gown. Maybe that is why most brides never want to take off their gowns on the big day - when do most normal people get a chance to be in such a pretty dress again??? Below are some beautiful dresses that would be perfect for any award show anyone has to go too. Only problemo is the price tag - these beauties don't come cheap! Part 2 will have some fun ideas on how to throw a chic award party in your home!
