Memorial Day Sales

Happy Friday friends...I hope you all are off to somewhere fabulous to enjoy the long weekend! We are staying in the city and will be taking it easy. While I love to be on the go, there is something so luxurious about a staycation, where you don't have to pack a bag and you get to sleep in your own bed. We may take a day trip somewhere in New England but basically we look forward to waking up late and deciding what to do that day. A real rarity for us {well for me anways who is a totally planner}. I put together a little round up of some of my favorite summer items to give your closet some love come the warm weather. Beneath that is a list of all the amazing sales taking place this weekend. Have a great weekend everyone!

Monday Blues

Happy Monday friends...While the skies are quite gray in these parts I have nothing but baby blues on my mind. On the rare occasions that I wear color I often find myself gravitating to soft colors and this mix of chambray and periwinkle fits the bill perfectly. Its so pretty in floral prints and is matches so well with grays, blushes and whites. I can't wait to add some of these pieces into my spring wardrobe that most definitely needs some work!

Neutral Territory

If we are friends on Instagram it should come as no surprise that I rarely wear color and have been all about neutrals in my home and in my wardrobe. Some of my summer looks featuring everything white and beige as well as a little round up of some transitional pieces that bring this look right into fall are all below. Because let's face it, who follows the rules of no white after Labor Day? Not this girl!

Embroidered

As of late I have been finding myself gravitating to items with a little something extra to them. An embroidered detail or a subtle embellishment, I adore how a simple item like a sun dress or a tunic can instantly look more chic with this detail. So I put together a round up of some of my favorites below. That little pouch with the tassel is such a style steal, it might have to become mine!

Fringe Benefits

Hey everyone...so sorry for the late post, blogging from NYC this week and the internet access at our hotel has been quite the challenge. Let's just say I am having flashbacks to this and have lost my my mind quite a few times since Monday trying to put together blog posts. Any who, walking around NYC has been quite inspirational for content. The women here are oh so fashionable and have me spotting tons of on point trends. Fringe is a big one that I first noticed it on the street style muse Olivia Palermo at NYFW this past September. She basically kills it overtime with incorporating trends without being over the top. So while I have yet to try this look out for myself {I keep seeing this movie in my mind when I think of wearing a fringe outfit}, I am definitely loving it on others. A little round up on some stylish fringe looks are below, as always at all different price points!

Did you fabulous people see there is a sale going on over at J.Crew with a ton of new arrivals? Save 25% off with code SHOPNOW or 30% off if your a card holder with code CARDTREAT. I definitely will be starting my Christmas shopping with theses awesome savings!

Pom-Pom

Quick post today as I am rushing out the door off to celebrate my nieces 6th birthday! As I pack up the candy kebobs and caramel apples I was thinking of other cheerful items like the pom-pom. Whether its used in garland at party, trim on your fashions or in your home, this fun poufy little edging adds just a little more spunk to whatever it is on. A few of my favorites are below - oh & check out this amazing pom DIY!

Pretty Petals

One trend I am fully on board with this Spring is floral prints on everything. I seriously cannot get enough! It oozes femininity and elegance but also works well with so many other patterns, specifically stripes. I gathered a few items that boast this blooming print and literally want one of everything.
Untitled #595

one - Ted Baker is clearly loving floral as much as me since he has created an entire line called "Botanical Beauty". I am especially admiring the structured blazer above paired with some destroyed denim and a great tee

two - When it comes to Tory Burch it's all about prints. She is the master of mixing them tastefully. This floral tote is quite possibly the most perfect Spring statement bag that resembles more of a piece of vintage art then a piece of fashion.  P.S. Her runway show at NYFW is online today at 9AM!

three - Kate Spade was inspired by Paris in the Spring when she created this blossoming printed scarf

four - Rifle Paper may not fall into the fashion category but this floral & metallic gold note card was too pretty to resist sharing. I simply love everything they do. NEED to order those ASAP!

five - I have to dive into the turban headband trend, but after seeing my jewelry idol Lulu Frost looking super chic at NYFW, that all may change. This cheery yellow chiffon hair accessory might be perfect for the frizzy summer hair.

six - I DIE over this dress. It's petal perfection. The grey floral base with the pops of pinks & purple is so simple and elegant.

seven -  Dress up your ears with these pretty floral inspired studs

eight - BCBG is also on board with floral this upcoming season. These high waisted wide leg pants would look super chic with a fitted tank and high heeled sandal.

nine -  For those who want a little edge mixed in with their floral prints, this phone case fits the bill.

ten - What's not to love with this little compact that is boasting stripes and a floral pattern in a neutral color palette. A total steal at $4!

eleven - Kate Spade took her parisian garden inspiration and created some seriously pretty jewelry like this statement bracelet

twelve - Givenchy never fails when it comes to their sandals. This floral printed pair is no exception. I would like one of every print & color of this shoe.

thirteen -  Pair this pouch with the compact mirror and you have a pretty little set for storing makeup on the go!

Beaded Beauties

Adding some extra sparkle to your look doesn't always have to come in the form of jewelry. I have always adored a beaded evening bag to dress up jeans and blazers or to give a more formal look a little extra something. While major designers like Marchesa and Jason Wu make extraordinarily beautiful embellished bags you don't have to spend $3K+ to get the look. Just take a looksie at the adorned beauties below that are all under $250!

Weekend Wear - Halloween Costume Inspiration

Growing up Halloween was always one of my favorite holidays. In elementary school it was all about the parade and getting to show off your costume to all the classes {minus the one time my mother made me be gum stuck under a table}. In high school it was all about staying out late and having shaving cream fights with your friends and of course coming back looking like a hot mess. In college it was all about the rented costume where me and my friends went all out for the campus parties. When I was in my twenties my tune changed and I wanted creative costumes that weren't from the store but from clothes I could wear again which included a time when I was a construction worker and wore my favorite destroyed denim with a boy's undershirt tank top {skin tight of course} and pink hard hat and tool belt. Another year it was a pirate of the Caribbean and another Carrie from Sex And The City. While my days of dressing up have unfortunately been over for quite a bit I still can't help but try to imagine a costume I would love to wear and when I saw the stylish Halloween accessories at BCBG I knew I could put together a fun costume worth sharing with you all. What are you dressing up as???

What's in my bag - The Weekender

My husband and I love weekends away. Whether it be stateside or abroad we live for the long weekend. Packing & repacking for all these little getaways means a good weekender bag is in order. While I tend to overpack at almost every occasion {hey a girls gotta have her options}, I am really trying to keep our shorter trip ensembles to a minimum. If it can't fit in my carry on and or my duffle, it can't come. This is a very challenging task for me to say the least. Organizing outfits before travel has never been one of my strong points, but here goes nothing!

packing essentials include my favorite striped top for cooler nights & sleeveless for the warmer days // a scalloped dress // white denim // denim jacket // destroyed denim // tan sandals // jade sandals // midi dress // easy day dress // skirt & tank // polka dot top // favorite pajamas // statement necklace one & two for layering // coverup & bathing suit
