Memorial Day Sales

Happy Friday friends...I hope you all are off to somewhere fabulous to enjoy the long weekend! We are staying in the city and will be taking it easy. While I love to be on the go, there is something so luxurious about a staycation, where you don't have to pack a bag and you get to sleep in your own bed. Currently Coveting - Neutral Territory

It's no surprise that I like me some neutrals. This becomes super evident come fall where I gravitate to great basics in my favorite color palette of black, tan and ivory. Last week before we left for Italy {more coming on that trip next week} we had some time in NYC where I spotted some very fashionable women all sporting chic basics that looked so effortlessly pulled together. So I did a little round up of a few items that I am currently coveting to build a wardrobe of classics that mix well with one another and will last beyond one season. 

Vermont Bound

Its weird to write this but we are heading up North to avoid yet another massive snow storm that is expected to hit Boston this weekend. Since when does Boston get more snow then Vermont? Any who...we are heading to the charming village of Woodstock where you literally feel as though you have stepped into a Norman Rockwell painting. I can't wait to walk around town, indulge in some spa time and just be a lazy daisy with my love. I didn't have much time to shop for the trip thanks to a hellish week but if I could turn back time the below would definitely be on my packing list. Travel Style

Morning friends! My apologies for the lack of a post yesterday. I was up in Maine for the weekend celebrating my best friends engagement and left the old lap top back in Boston. My husband and I have been on the go quite a bit these days and are about to head off again to the West coast but this time with my folks. I feel so fortunate to have parents who still enjoy travel, it was something we did often as a family when I was younger and has given me a lot of great memories that I will forever cherish. Growing up we were taught to treat travel as a luxury, something my father worked very hard to provide for us. It meant we were always dressed up for our flights and always had to be on our best behavior. This lesson stays with me to this day, I am so grateful for the travel I get to experience and like to be at my best when flying. Which means for me a put together outfit that is also comfy along with efficient packing with my travel essentials to keep myself entertained in flight as well as items for freshening up upon landing. Color Crush Grey & Sales Galore!

Grey has long been a favorite of mine. It's a great neutral that pairs perfectly with every single color in the spectrum. I personally have been living in this sweater since the temps dropped here in Boston, it feels like a cozy blanket wrapped around you. Grey also looks incredible head to toe in different shades of grey or a completely monotone look. It's practically impossible to mess up pairing this hue. Currently Coveting

Despite the chilly temps here in Boston I am in the middle of the tedious process of switching my winter clothing for some lighter fare. While I always find organizing our closet a tad overwhelming it is great to go through your clothing to find what is worth keeping, what you can consign and what you can donate. I also find it helpful to see what is missing in my reportoire. A few things that I am currently coveting to help build the perfect Spring wardrobe is below.



Have you seen Kate Moss for Top Shop? This sparkly boho blouse is one of the few items that isn't sold out! My style muse - Olivia Palermo lives in this pair of distressed denim, therefore I want them.  Little white dresses don't usually last more then a season for me {I spill a lot} so I am on the hunt for a new one. This ladylike number is pretty perfect in my book. My phone wants a new spring outfit too and I beleive this gold flecked cork case fits the bill perfectly. Lulu Frost rocks my world with her deco designs, come warmer weather I gravitate to longer necklaces and this stunner is just the right amount of sparkle to any look, would look especially fabulous over a simple silk blouse. While my aviators are my go to sunglasses, but these navy frames are seriously cool for switching it up. I love bows on my toes and these orange color blocked flats are a fun pop of color. A coverup that doubles as a day time dress, yes please! Navy is definitely my favorite color in Spring & Summer, this ruffle cami would get some serious wear in my wardrobe, love. More sparkle is always a good idea right? I think so...these sandals are everything. A sexy one piece for laying poolside. Lanvin's quilted "happy" bag makes me just that...giddy to be in fact. It's up there with the Chanel boy bag. Finally because it's freezing I had to throw in a killer jacket, isn't everything Burberry designs in outwear just simple perfection? I think so. Spring Wishlist

I'm having a major itch to do some shopping and refresh my wardrobe with some new Spring clothes. I am seriously over sweaters, coats & boots. A few things below are on my list...some I have picked up, some are still on my wish-list. What are you coveting come warmer weather???



These Loren Hope cuffs are perfection, I would stack this midnight colored gem with a neutral clear stone to go with everything in my wardrobe all Spring & Summer. A classic trench is always a wardrobe staple, I would wear with those floral sling backs, casual ankle length jeans & a striped tee or that pretty peplum top around town.  Loeffler Randall makes some killer shoes, I was obsessed with a similar style last season, I think these cobalt beauties would be a great new pop of color in my neutral wardrobe. Bomber jackets are everywhere this season. I am OBSESSED with this Rebecca Taylor one. When heading to warmer temps, this chevron coverup and stylish one piece are a perfect pair for a poolside chic look. A fabulous day to night dress. Finally a nautical inspired clutch and gold iPhone case are great accessories to go with all my favorite looks.

Let's face it, fall is the best season for the wardrobe. While I love summer and truly do not want it to end it's hard to ignore the fabulous fashions hitting the shelves right now. When I select items to add to my wardrobe I always like to keep it simple and classic which usually translates into a lot of black and my favorite pattern, leopard. Usually in the form of a perfect pump, the one below is the perfect heal height for comfort and style {I own last years patent version}. A few wardrobe staples like a great blazer, classic white shirt, a cross body tote, sensible walking boots and some fun accessories that I would love to add to my wardrobe this fall are listed below.

Weekend Wear - Last Summer Purchase

Well another week has come and gone and I don't know about you but summer is flying by for me in a blink of an eye. Isn't the saying that "time flies when your having fun" all too true??? I am having the best summer of my life and I am already dreading it's end even though I love love love the fall {and all the fabulous fashions that come with it}. While summer sales are always the best for the old bank account I told myself I made my last purchase of the season when I added the dress below to my wardrobe. We have a fun weekend away planned for my husbands birthday this fall and I cannot wait to wear it for him. Below is exactly how I hope to style it come cooler weather.

Its gonna get into the 90's today here in Boston which means time to break out the summer dresses! Is there anything more summery than a breezy little white dress and some great sandals??? I think not. I prefer when a warmer weather dress is more flowy and less fitted. It keeps your look effortless but also comfortable. I always pair my white dresses with a tan sandal, my favorite denim jacket, big tote, ray bans, gold hoops and a neutral lip gloss to keep the look natural.

I always prefer heels to flats any day of the week but city living requires a sensible shoe that can easily get me from point A to B without falling on my face. While I absolutely loathe pairing the word sensible with the word shoe, I must surrender my feetsies to some more comfortable and practical shoes. My latest obsession is the cap toe flat. I recently purchased this pair & this pair and have become utterly obsessed with them. Their metallic toe tip instantly makes the shoe a little more glamorous, adds a little added style to my ensemble and instantly gives me a pep in my step.

Weekend Wear - Welcome Spring

When the warmer weather finally decides to grace us with it's presence I know I will be breaking out some of my favorite spring items that always include my beloved denim jacket to throw over a summery dress. That AG jacket was by far one of my best investments, it has the perfect amount of stretch to keep the look of the jacket fitted instead of boxy and the color pairs so well with other blues. This is key seeing I wear tons of navy come Spring. I love that little white dress below for it's knee length hem. Not everything needs to be a mini to be attractive. This flowy dress will translate well into many looks through the spring and into summer with a thong sandal and fedora. What are you dying to break out of your closet come warmer weather???

Have Yourself A Sparkly New Years Eve!!!

After two years of spending New Years Eve out with friends we decided this year to stay in and spend a quiet night at home just the two of us. We will be cooking ourselves a fabulous dinner and indulging on some very expensive champagne gifted to us that we have been saving for a special occasion. While we are staying in and likely not seeing anyone but each-other I have a feeling some sparkle will make it into my wardrobe. The jeans that is. I recently tried on a pair of AG "ex-boyfriend" jeans on at Bloomingdale's and seriously couldn't get them off fast enough. They made me look about 2 feet shorter and about 20 pounds heaver - double whammy of negativity.  I was so confused on how this could be as I really adore this look every time I see them on a blog or on some fashionista around town. However on moi - its was total fashion roadkill.  I truly believe this style can one hundred percent help or hurt you depending on your body type but in my opinion, I find that this look is meant for the ladies without the curves and more for the straight figured gals.
