Closet Confessions

While picking up a few things for my husband the other day a salesperson told me fall items would be rolling out in a week or two. Say What?! Fall...it just turned summer like two days ago! So since all the summer sales are currently taking place, I am looking at you Shopbop, Saks & Bloomies. I thought I would share a few of my favorite purchases for the warm weather season that I have shared on my Instagram. You can also shop all my looks without Instagram by signing up with Like to Know it here. Full disclosure, I feel like a real idiot taking these pictures most of the time but I love talking about fashion and when I post an outfit it sort of reminds me of the days when me and my girlfriends would all plan out our outfits before we went out and do a mini fashion show of what to wear. I miss that girly stuff!

Do you notice a lot of the same accessories amongst these photos? Some items are on major repeat like these sandals that I live in & love as well as this gold bracelet {available in silver here} gifted to me by my husband at christmas as well as this necklace from a few birthdays ago and finally my favorite phone case and sunglasses

Cash or Credit - Beachwear

When I shop for a coverup I am always looking for it to serve as not only something comfortable to lounge in around the pool or the beach but also a style that can easily take you from the seaside to a restaurant and beyond. So when I saw this Tory Burch knit dress I thought it perfectly fit the bill for all of the above. However it's price tag was a bit more then what I like to spend on something that will likely get sprayed with sunscreen and or get a daiquiri or two spilled on it. Then today I cam across this picture on instagram of a fellow curvy gal and thought it was a great look a like for a fraction of the cost. I added a beautiful coral one piece and neutral accessories to complete the look. An effortlessly chic look at two very different price points.

Rosé Season

While it feels a bit odd to be writing about wine at six am in the morning, I couldn't resist sharing a few favorites of summer's "It" drink. I feel it's safe to say that summer is no doubt rosé season. This delicious elixir is oh so refreshing on a hot summers days and nights, not too pricey and let's not forget that pretty pink coloration. Combine that with some stylish packaging and you have yourself a great hostess gift or something for you to enjoy at home. Just take a look at the little round up below.

The Vodka Cleanse

Morning friends! I am back & hope you will forgive me for my very long absence from the blogosphere. I plan on doing a full "life lately" post later this week but I wanted to pop in today and share a fun little product I came across this past weekend on Shelter Island when I was home celebrating father's day with my family.

I have tried lots of cleanses and usually quit within the first twenty four hours. Life without actual solid food is nothing this gal wants to be a part of. Hangry is a severe understatement of how I am when I am starving myself. So when I popped in one of my favorite Shelter Island markets this weekend and they were giving out samples for a new juice cleanse, I was all like "ugh, another juice cleanse Ill want to try, spend a fortune on and fail miserably at" then I saw the words vodka, tequila and party...my curiosity was peaked and I was suddenly sitting front row like a star pupil to learn all about this "cleanse". The company Clean Drinking is only in NY for right now but I am hoping with time they will be expanding, otherwise I will be silly bothering my family & friends back home to be overnighting me coolers of this magic elixir. Each juice is cold pressed, under 40 calories and is all natural. Some of the drinks are meant for mixing with your favorite alcohol to create a cocktail that is tasty treat without the caloric guilt that so many mixed drinks have. While the others are to help you feel revitalized on their own as a refreshing and hydrating drink, there is even one for the kiddos! I went to pick up some yesterday to bring back to Boston and they were sold out {insert sad face}, I fully plan on stocking up next time I am home. Oh and just for fun I put together a little round up of some cheery summer entertaining accoutrement to help make your next get together a little extra festive.

Float On

With Memorial Day quickly approaching I have nothing but summer on my mind. I can't wait for days by the beach, cookouts with friends and family, boat rides and long days of sunshine all make for the perfect warm weather days. Since we spend a lot of time out on Shelter Island where the beaches are quite rocky we often find ourselves lounging poolside. To amp up the fun in the water I put together a few of my favorite floats that will be most definitely be fun for any member of the family. I just can't decide which one to pack in my suitcase for the long weekend!

One Pieces

Swim season is upon us - well sorta...we had a hint of it then Mother Nature had a total tantrum and sent us back to the arctic. Regardless of her mood swings, I am sure the warmer temps will be gracing us with their presence once again and we will be on the hunt for a bathing suit that doesn't make us feel like we are a beached whale. Now I know one pieces aren't for everyone, but after this post earlier this week I had a few inquiries on some one pieces that are stylish, comfortable and flattering. No matter how great of shape you are in, putting on a swimsuit for the first time of the season can be quite daunting. Staring at your winter skin, memories of the pasta and wine we indulged in all winter long quickly comes back to you and slaps you in the face. The answer {besides the obvious diet & gym time} for me is to be prepared for bathing suit shopping. Go in the morning when you are your lightest, do your hair and makeup and if you can treat yourself to a spray tan {because a sun kissed bod always feels slimmer}. Little tricks like the above may take some planning but will always help you feel better when trying on your bathing suits!

one - A classic black swimsuit is always in style and this one is especially chic with it's thin halter straps for extra support and embossed fabric to give some texture to the suit.

two - One of my favorite one piece purchases this year, so much so that I bought a few colors. I love the ruching around the mid section which flatters your curves and the straight across neckline keeps a bigger chest disguised. Also comes with removable straps and in D cup & longer torso sizes.

three - My other favorite one piece of the season but for different reasons. This lovely is available in patterns or solids but the underwire cup makes it a bit sexier and more revealing for those days you want to be a little more va va voom.

four - Pretty petals is youthful and fun and the little peek a boo reveals a little skin without being raunchy.

five - A sexy yet sport one piece for beach activities.

six - One pieces can glamorous with gold embellishments & straps.

seven - Plus size swimwear need not be boring. I love the hidden supportive bra and pattern on this one piece. The drawstring on the hip also allows you to control how much thigh you want to show.

eight - Another plus size piece that hugs your curves in all the right places.

J.Crew Summer Sale!!!

Who doesn't love a good sale, especially at at store where you can pick up some clothes for work or play! I pretty much love everything J.Crew does but here are a few of my current favorites!

1. This pleated chiffon tank would look fabulous with white jeans and a colored sandal
2. The color combination of aqua and neon yellow in these earrings has me weak in the knees.
3. A great statement necklace is a necessity in every woman's wardrobe.
4. This butterfly scarf would be cute tied on a tote or worn loosely on the neck.
5. A gauzy tunic is perfect to throw over your swimsuit for hot summer days.
6. I am obsessed with this cork clutch with flecks of gold foil. It goes with everything.
7. A nautical striped beach tote for heading to the beach.
8. The belted detail on this one piece amps up swimwear to a very chic level.
9. You may remember seeing this mini here, I couldn't resist sharing again! It's total perfection with a simple grey teemetallic sandal
10. I love the thicker heel on this perfect neutral summer sandal
11. Shorts may not be my first go to on warm days, but the scalloped detail on these are too cute.

Happy Shopping!
