I don't know about you but I love me a good deal! The satisfaction of finding an item you love that is also affordable is a big high five to you and your bank account. So while there are certain items I do like to splurge on, there are so many more things that I look to save some cash on. Trendspotting - Houndstooth

Happy Monday friends! Sorry for the late post...I was plagued by a killer migraine last night that put me out of commission. Feeling much better today and wanted to share some more of my love affair with the color combination of black and white. I very rarely embrace patterns even though I always love them on other people. When I do wear prints,  I typically opt for a pattern that is a bit more subtle i.e. that beautiful poncho below {that I want to wrap myself in and take a nap with}. Houndstooth is generally considered a bold print for me but I am seriously loving the mixing of prints {hello perfect clutch}, shadowy shapes and blurred lines of some of the styles below. Some prints lend themselves to certain seasons and this is definitely one I will be welcoming come this fall!

Weekend Wear - Style Steals

Over the weekend I popped into Nordstrom's to swoon over their enormous shoe department. While browsing I noticed a new department with new to me brands in their Savvy Trends Shop. What used to be an area of the store for designer brands such as Rag & Bone, Haute Hippie etc. is now home to more wallet friendly selections. The styles are on trend and the prices are all under $100 {fist pump for the bank accounts!}. I tried on a few things and fell in love with the items below. I would roll up the denim in a small cuff to give more of a boyfriend denim look and pair with some sensible yet stylish sandals in a neutral color. Then layer the longer hem tank with the textured blazer and accessorize a long necklace and woven clutch.
