Holiday Cards

Confession: while John & I have been together for seven plus years, last year was the first year we sent out a holiday card. I always felt they were a huge pain in the butt and an added expense I didn't need. However, when we were living in NYC this time last year where everything was so decked to the high heavens for the holidays I was inspired to send some out. So I quickly gathered addresses of friends & family and turned to Minted where I had a huge selection of designs, was able to customize  the design with my desired color scheme and the best part...they addressed all my envelopes for me! I have since used them for art, party invitations, moving announcements as well as this years holiday card. I picked a few of my favorites for all you last minute shoppers because let's face it, it's nice to get mail that isn't a bill. Merry Everything friends, I hope you have a great start to the holiday season!

Holiday Gift Guide For The Kiddos

As my nieces get older we are buying less toys but I couldn't resist sharing a few favorites that are sure to make kiddos at all ages happy come Christmas morning...because let's face it, the holidays are meant for kids and nothing is better then seeing them rip through their packages at the speed of light.

Untitled #796

Parents all across the land will likely despise this box of instruments from the incessant noise but kids LOVE to bang things & make music so who are we to deprive them of that happiness?!

Babies can be a challenge since they aren't too much into toys so I picked out this adorable vegetable collection of rattles & monogrammed stroller blanket that are too cute for words.

Laughing is the best...so for the little comedian in your life this box of jokes provides materials for days!

Calling all Star Wars fans, these light sabers are fun for a sword fight & this bedding is just plane awesome.

Keep your kiddo warm with this adorable hat that makes them feel like a superhero & winter boots that happily coordinate.

Fitbit is big among my nieces, I love that they all can get a color that they love.

J.Crew has the absolute best kids pajamas. I wish they came in grown up size. Make the gift extra special with some sparkly slippers.

How adorable are these little dolls made from up cycled cashmere?!

The Magic Eight Ball was such a fun gift when I was a kid. I am not surprised that kids still love it. My littlest niece told me this was on her list to santa.

I die over this pizza slice bag. Its SO good!

My sister in law once that the best gift she could give her girls was the love of reading. These personalized puffin classics not only look great on a shelf but will also help start a great collection of books for your kids.

These hover boards make me so nervous but i have pretty much heard every kid I know ask for them. I would pair it with these matching pads & a helmet.

Good lord I loved having an indoor tent as a kid...mine were not this cool but I absolutely adore this one & love that it comes in a slew of beautiful colors.

Holiday Gift Guide - For The Host/Hostess

I know it feels way to early to be thinking about your holiday shopping lists but I couldn't resist sharing my first holiday gift guide with you all to help get prepped for all the festivities that are surely filling up your calendar for next month. We have been so fortunate in our new home to have hosted a few dinner parties and our guests have seriously spoiled us with the most generous gifts. So I wanted to kick off the gift guides with some inspiration for giving to the host/hostess that show know how to throw a party. Some are items I have personally received and loved and some are on my list to give to friends and family this holiday season.
Untitled #794

Clare V. is always a stop for me during my holiday shopping lists. Her clutches are seriously stylish so I naturally adored her market tote

Who doesn't love a sassy gift here or there. These naughty & nice glasses are adorable and hilarious. If you want to be a little more sophisticated there are a ton more to choose from.

Giving gifts to men always seems to be a challenge for me. I always thinking picking up their favorite six pack with a nice bottle opener fits the bill for the male host.

Who doesn't love to receive a good bottle of vino?! Make the gift a little extra special with a this wine tote, or these adorable wine brown bags

A throw may seem like an odd thing to gift for hostessing a party but I couldn't resist the adorable pom pom trim on this one

A special memory can be gifted in a beautiful geometric shaped frame

A soft scented candle and coordinating matches are always a solid go to gift.

We always see flasks for men that are super cute, but this one is perfect for ladies...I love how it looks like a bracelet and comes in fun colors.

Game night in is always a welcome gift for a family. Love these colorful cards & this artistic puzzle

I was gifted this salt cellar & fresh sea salt last year & it's so functional and pretty on our countertops.

A chic desk calendar to keep a stylish friend up to date.

Monogrammed gifts always let the receiver know you thought ahead, these shield style boards are so perfect for the entertaining at the holidays.

A chic paper weight let's your gift recipient know they are a good egg

A great gift for the gardener/cook who loves their own fresh herbs at an arms reach. Or flowers in this darling vase

This entire set of blue & gold ceramics is stunning but I am partial to the pedestal bowl filled with a holiday snack of course.

What kitchen or bathroom doesn't need a pretty soap/lotion duo?

all of the above and a few added extras can all be shopped below!

Lovely In Lace

Is there anything more feminine then lace? I love how a little detail of lace can give an outfit an extra oomph. What used to be reserved just for lingerie now can be seen in everyday clothing such as a peekaboo detail, a beautiful cap sleeve, a decorative strip on a scarf or a sheer back with a sexy touch. I definitely plan on incorporating some lace pieces into my wardrobe this holiday season!

Body Suits

Having been a teenager in the 90's the bodysuit is hardly a new trend for me. I was ALL over this look in high school. To me nothing looked better then a fitted top with some destroyed Levi's and a flannel shirt tied around my waist. It was the grunge era, we all wanted to look like Claire Danes from My So Called Life and listen to Nirvana & Pearl Jam while having a boyfriend be in a band that sang nothing but covers of those aforementioned bands. Luckily my style has become much more refined in my adulthood but a love for some items still stay remain close to my heart, i.e. the bodysuit. They are perfect for creating a neat tailored look or the illusion of a tucked in blouse that will never untuck or add bulk to your outfit. It's ideal for an outfit like this where I had to tuck my blouse into my undergarments to avoid an unsightly budge of fabric under my fitted skirt.  Currently I wear this one under sweaters or  blouses that may be a little sheer or just need a camisole to complete the look. But I have so desperately wanting to add more bodysuits into my closet. So when I saw my favorite curvy girl blogger wearing this new to me brand called Tuxe BodyWear I knew I had to give it a try. So while I ordered this one & this one {will report back on fit & how I styled them}, there are so many more I am curious about trying out. What are your thoughts of this trend, is it here to stay...again?

Closet Confessions

I gotta be honest, every time I post an outfit photo with my phone face I feel quite ridiculous. The same stance every time, knee bent, slightly lifted, arm on hip...it's all so staged trying to get a snap worth sharing on my Instagram. I however continue to submit myself to this humility as I love clothes, fashion and talking about it all, hence this blog and todays post. I love getting inspired from seeing what others are wearing and trying to make it work on my curvy figure. I love sharing real everyday clothes. You know, the things you will honestly wear versus some of the more fashionable ladies out there who look awesome but will post ball room skirts with a chambray skirts all while casually running errands around town in stilettos. I love seeing it, but let's face it...no one is wearing that for a day out & about town, especially with kiddos.  So with that said I thought I would share a few of my recent looks {so many are on super sale} that I am loving during this beautiful fall weather we are having in Boston!

sweater // blouse // bag // scarf // denim // shoes // pillow //  bench cushion // belt

shirt // denim // bedding // mirror // blanket // art

more of a work look then everyday but included in the round up because I love this skirt!

p.s. have you checked out all the new items in my "boutique" featuring favorites from all different brands & stores. I also added a fun little way to shop my instagrams in the top left corner by signing up with like to know it. All you have to do is submit your email & any photo with the #liketkit hash tag that you like will send you an email with shopable links!
