Happy Friday friends...SO happy the weekend is here! While we are off to Maine to celebrate my husbands birthday I wanted to share a little cash or credit with you all before we go. The tie neck {I refuse to call it what it's actual name is} is a major trend happening in everything from dresses to blouses. Just this week I wore this style with this dress. I plan on living in silk blouses, comfy flats & denim all fall. It is always my full proof outfit that I feel best in so I wanted to use my personal style as some inspiration for todays get the look for less. Happy Weekend!

Beauty Round Up
Do you ever get a point where your entire beauty bag needs refreshing. Lately I have felt I run out everything all at the same time which is such a heavy hit to the wallet {which also begs the question - why is it totally impossible to walk into Sephora and only buy one thing?}. To make matters worse a lot of the products I was using had since been discontinued {insert sad face}, including my beloved perfume, which we all know is so hard to find one you love. So I asked around to my girlfriends what products they like to use, took their recommendations and went about starting a new daily beauty regimen for myself. For my skincare I have been so happy with these all natural products and these for my anti-aging care. First was finding a new scent. I luckily stocked up on a few bottles when I heard my beloved signature scent was being discontinued but decided to keep looking for a replacement and thankfully to some free samples I fell in love with Hermès Le Jardin de Monsieur Li and have been smelling my wrists non stop since my husband surprised me with a bottle. All my other beauty favorites are below.

Weekend Wear - Pink & Orange
Pink & Orange has long been one of my favorite color combinations. However it's usually something I would only entertain to wear in Spring or Summer. The two hues compliment each other so well and just welcome the warmer weather with open arms. I personally have been coveting that J.Crew lady like blazer below since I saw in their Spring catalog but have yet to splurge on it. While some say the look below is too matchy-matchy, I think keeping the base of the outfit very neutral and using color in the accessories is safe. If dark denim isn't your thing, try this color combo with some fatigue colored denim.

Mix Well & Wear
Let's face it, the concept of mixing patterns and prints isn't always easy. There are endless combinations on how to wear this style and it's soooo hard to truly know if your look is on trend or a hot mess. I played it safe this summer by giving this concept a whirl with mixing rugby stripes and leopard and I have to say I loved it! It had me thinking of what other pairings would work together and if would I adore just as much...so I took on the challenge of mixing contrasting prints and curated a few looks to help get you inspired for your next mix and matched ensemble! Which combo is your favorite???

white out
Is there anything more crisp clean & chic then an all white outfit??? {perhaps an all black outfit but we will save that for a fall/winter post} I am totally adoring white on white in all it's forms. Whether you wear it, decorate with it or host a soiree with this color as your all around palette you are sure to look pulled together and polished. I love it mostly in the summer but thanks to silly fashion rules such as "no white after labor day" being thrown out the window this look is acceptable in any season. Just take a look below at the beautiful styles of white on white ensembles. My favorite is pairing it with a tan belt between the pieces to give your look a little added interest. The best part of this monochromatic style is that you can accessorize it a ton or none at all, either way you will look uber chic!

color crush - punch
WINNER of the Gabrielle necklace is Holly(all things charming)! please email me - heidi@dooleynotedstyle.com with your shipping information & your beautiful necklace will be sent out!
Stay tuned for another fab giveaway in the next week - it's a great one!!!
In honor of all things punchy - check out today's color crush!
What used to be reserved only for nail polish on my piggies (on moi at least) now has me swooning for adding it into my wardrobe in so many different ways. This cheerful color made an appearance in our wedding in the cerise colored Amsale bridesmaid dresses and an accent color on the Miss Pickles Press paper goods but rarely would I ever wear such a bright hue until recently. I adore that my husband points out the color every time we see anything dark pink to prove that he remembers that it was part of our wedding color palette as proof that he was paying attention during the wedding planning - such a teachers pet! I just can't decide what punchy colored item needs to come home with me this summer (super smitten with the iPhone case & color block clutch) - which is your favorite???

room to outfit
I saw the below image on pinterest and thought it was really interesting. There is SO much going on in this living room that I would think I would be overwhelmed and instantly stressed in a space with so many different wall hangings, prints and patterns and oh lordy - all those bright colors! I imagine if I had to ever to describe this room's look to someone they would think ymy taste was hideous! Antlers on the walls in different finishes, black and white damask chair, rugby striped rug layered with a zebra hide rug...it's just all wrong yet so right. Something about this room just screams effortlessly chic to me and I knew I wanted to transform it into an outfit. What do you think???

color crush - minty fresh
Is anyone else totally obsessed with the color craze that is happening in everything from wardrobe to home interiors??? Since I am a fully confessed chromophobe ( I totes had to look that word up) it really is forcing me to be more daring with my wardrobe and shop for items that add some interest into each ensemble. While I do love color, I often don't wear it. This refreshing and warm version of green may just change that. I am seriously swooning over how feminine and soft this pale green looks with so many other colors. It is screaming Spring & happier longer days. I think this minty color is perfectly paired with other neutrals such as navy's, beige's and whites. How would you wear this fab color? Part two will feature some beautiful images of this color splashed in almost every room of a home!
