The Cold Shoulder

This weekend I have my best friends bachelorette party in Portland, ME. I am so excited to get my college girls together and have a night out on the town. I didn't know what to pack since it's still arctic like here in New England so I plan on bringing along a few options depending on how much snow we get tomorrow. I am however loving the cold shoulder look which features just that. A bare shoulder top that shows off just a bit of your arm in a very chic bohemian way. A few of my favorites are below. Have a great weekend everyone!

Cusp has a good selection of this style and a great promotion going on where you spend $350, you get a cute cross body bag oh and $50 off your order of $500 with code CUSPNM.

Pom-Pom

Quick post today as I am rushing out the door off to celebrate my nieces 6th birthday! As I pack up the candy kebobs and caramel apples I was thinking of other cheerful items like the pom-pom. Whether its used in garland at party, trim on your fashions or in your home, this fun poufy little edging adds just a little more spunk to whatever it is on. A few of my favorites are below - oh & check out this amazing pom DIY!

Zippity do da

I have been on a bit of a zipper obsession. Nearly any item that boasts this little detail instantly draws my attention. Gone are the days of hiding the closure on your garments, it's all about exposing them and having them stand out for an added oomph of style. This is definitely one trend I am on board with. I have picked up a few of the items below for myself thought I'd share a few others that have caught my eye like those booties which are such an affordable find!

Weekend Wear - The Real Deal

I always enjoy putting together the weekend wear posts. They not only serve a purpose for my own inspiration with clothing I already have in my closet but they allow me to find items that I am coveting at great prices like that coat below. I have been craving a parka for New England's chilly winters but have yet to pull the trigger on purchasing one. Today's post just might motivate me to do so. While I love sharing outfits that boast beautiful high heels or feminine details like lace, what you will usually find me in is my favorite denim with a silk blouse and my favorite comfy flats.  I always opt for a cross-body bag for strolling around the city to keep my hands free and some simple jewelry, including the little diamond studs I have had since I was sixteen. So I thought I would keep it real and share an outfit inspired by my real weekend wear would look like.

Thank you for reading & have a great weekend!

Geek Chic

Accessorizing your personal style is no longer limited to the typical jewelry, clutches and so on. With all the innovations in the e-world and the portability of these devices styling your favorite tech accessory has never looked so good or been so easy thanks to many fashionable designers branching out into tech design. I chose a few of my favorites to cover up your smart phone, ipad, lap top and all other accoutrement to work, blog, study or peruse the web in style.

oh baby

I would like to start this blog post out with a full disclosure that I am not with child. However, almost everywhere I turn someone is preggers. Some bloggers included {here, here & here} along with many of my dearest friends which is why I have had a lot of requests for a fashion post for maternity clothing. Since I know practically nothing about being prego, I did a little research first and I stumbled upon a fabulous baby blog for some inspiration then put together some stylish finds at all different price points for my mama to be friends.

Stylish tops to pair with leggings and denim. A little something for everyone.

A classic trench and comfy open cardigans are perfect for chillier days.

Denim is a necessity in any wardrobe, I personally love the white for dressier summer looks, the destroyed for the comfy weekend wear and the straight leg with some comfy flats.

Dresses are always an easy go to for any woman, a chic outfit in a snap. I selected a few maternity looks to get the mama to be looking fabulous from work to play to even their baby shower.

It's hot out there & as much as women hate being in a bathing suit, swimwear has certainly got amped up for the prego ladies out there. I chose three pieces and coordinating cover ups to keep cool this summer.

Splurge Vs. Steal

Let's face it, trends change everyday and while we may love it right now, will we adore it as much down for years to come to justify the splurge??? Weekend Wear - Winter Pastels - His & Hers

I don't know about you but I always have trouble selecting softer colors in the cooler months of the year. Peaches, lavenders and mints always scream Spring or summer to me but I would love to amp up my all black wardrobe with some more ladylike colors that welcome the warmer weather. I adore the look below as the pants can easily be translated into the spring & summer wardrobes by pairing with sandals and replacing that sweater with a silk blouse or tank.

clutch {style steal $31} // earrings // sunglasses // pants // sweater // pumps {DNS favorite}

I might never be able to get my husband to wear a color other then navy but I do have to admit I love color on guys. My dad for example always looks great in color and thanks to my mom who picks out everything for him, he will practically wear whatever we buy him. The look below incorporates softer colors without losing the masculine edge that most men fear by wearing pastels.

Weekend Wear - Girls Night Out

Last night I had a blast with a girls night out on the town. While the occasion was a tad bittersweet as we said farewell to a friend relocating to the west coast {we will miss you Meg!}, it was so much fun to relive our "glory days" with hitting up our favorite Boston watering holes. While I wound up wearing an oversized tunic & leather pants last night, I think I would have been happier in the look below. I was in charge of the soirees decor {details will come another post} so I knew I would be setting up frantically before the guest of honor arrived which meant I didnt have lots of time to plan my ensemble. I just love the combination of navy and black lately, can't get enough of pairing these two dark hues together. That lace peplum top is the perfect example of how great these colors look together.

Belt It Out - Part Two

While I have already shared my love of belts and their many purposes here. What I didn't include in that post was a statement belt to give your waistline a little added sparkle. I have a sparkly belt stowed away that I purchased a while back from Club Monaco that is still waiting to be worn and been thinking of ways to incorporate it with items I already own. Who says a sparkly belt has to be reserved for only your big day?! With all the options out there you can definitely adorn a bland ensemble with any of the beauties below. Which lead me to creating some different ways to show off the statement belts below in all different styles.
