Holiday Gift Guide - Beauty Gifts

Let's face it, we all need a little bit of help from beauty products in our life. I do not know a single woman who doesn't at least wear lip gloss {this one is my favorite combined with thisin "nude beach" as the base color} or use some sort of tinted moisturizer to help brighten their skin. Even men have become a significant market in the beauty industry with launches of new shaving products and skin care regimens. I personally can find myself playing for hours in Sephora and have a very long beauty wish list that I may have sent to Santa. So I pulled together a few of my favorites for gifting to your beauty obsessed people. Everything from getting the perfect beach wavy hair to a bright white smile {even something for the fellas} is in a little gift guide below. Happy Shopping!

Take Me Away - By Train

My obsession with Downton Abbey and their opulent way of life has inspired me to research travel through Europe. While my husband and I have visited a few of the big cities I do hope to return soon and explore more of the countryside and smaller cities and what better way to do that then via luxury train ride with private cars quipped with all the amenities that even the Dowager Countess would surely approve of. When I stumbled upon the Venice Simplon Orient Express I was instantly intrigued by the glamorous form of travel and it's old fashioned sensibilities. Passengers are literally treated like royalty during their journey and get to travel in the lap of luxury between two continental destinations. I personally would love to do the London-Venice route which has you traveling in two grand locomotives all while  passing through incredible scenery including the Swiss Alps and the Italian Dolomites. However any of these luxury train clubs would surely fit the bill for a truly memorable experience with your special someone. Just take a look at the beautiful interiors below and tell me you don't want to get "all aboard" abroad!

Since this train travel requires some formal attire to keep up with the elegant experience. A stunning evening gown for the lady and handsome tux for the fellow cannot be forgotten to be packed.  If money is no object some of the travel accessories below most definitely can contribute to your luxe journey.

Mix Well & Wear

Let's face it, the concept of mixing patterns and prints isn't always easy. There are endless combinations on how to wear this style and it's soooo hard to truly know if your look is on trend or a hot mess. I played it safe this summer by giving this concept a whirl with mixing rugby stripes and leopard and I have to say I loved it! It had me thinking of what other pairings would work together and if would I adore just as much...so I took on the challenge of mixing contrasting prints and  curated a few looks to help get you inspired for your next mix and matched ensemble! Which combo is your favorite???

room to outfit

Second installment of room to outfit. I seriously can never get enough of anything that is featured in the fab home mag House Beautiful and when I came across this stunner of a room I knew I wanted to use if for an outfit inspiration. Even though this room was featured in 2008 I think it is still totally relevant to today's style.  I may never be bold enough to have a room like this in my home but I still can appreciate the beautiful colors and rich look of this New Orleans formal living room. The soft pink colored walls with the gold accents on the chairs, chandelier and mirror were all antiques found locally in NOLA.  I also adore the modern Lucite side table that mixes new with the old. Would you ever have a pink room in your home??? I think this fancy room deserves an elegant ensemble to wear within in it...queue the daydreaming of being fabulous drinking champagne and having friends over for dinner in this elegant environment!

This pale pink Zac Posen gown is absolutely insane, I knew the second I laid eyes on it, it would be the focal point of my room to outfit design. I seriously wish I had the funds and a place to wear such a beauty. I paired the exquisite dress with the always stylish Miu Miu shoes that have a Lucite heel which reminded me of the chandelier & the clear side table. The black trim on the nude suede  reminded me of the black dresser, back of the couch and black coffee table top. The aqua drop earrings are formal but organic in their shape while the color matches the couch and the stunning rug perfectly. The gold and diamond trim on the earrings reminded me of the trim on the mirror and chairs. The pillows shape inspired me to find a evening clutch to resemble the petite rectangle size and to use a shade a tad darker then the dress. I kept all the beauty products in the blush colored family as I didn't want anything too overpowering. The delicate bracelet is dainty enough to give your arm a little sparkle but not take away from the statement earnings. So what do you think, would you wear this look below???
