Send A Little Sweetness

A quick hello to give you all an update. Yesterday went really well with our frozen embryo transfer. I am feeling great and very hopeful for good results in a few weeks. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the well wishes & support.

I wanted to share a fun little company I came across called Greetabl. This online service allows you to go beyond the traditional greeting card and send something truly special to your favorite people. I thought this concept would be especially fun for Valentines Day but really can be customized to send for any holiday. It's easy to create, super wallet friendly and the recipient will love the bespoke details made just for them. Here's how it works, you pick out a stylish gift box from a slew of awesome designs, then pick your gift filling {everything from petite sweets to divine smelling candles}, upload your three favorite photos & add your message to the recipient {they even have tools to help you with that} and your done! I personally cannot wait to make these for my nieces this Valentines day, so much more personal then the typical $20 in a hallmark card {which I know they also love}. I adore that the little photos can be easily torn out of the card and even can be linked from your Instagram to upload your favorite snaps. If you are short on time & want to have a pre-made box sent ASAP, check out some of the super cute ideas below.

Gift Guide - Valentines Day

Happy Monday friends! I am home with the Mr. who isn't feeling so great so I have been planning a little Valentines day getaway for us to cheer him up. While last years valentines events included bowling with some of my favorite couples, this year we are heading to Woodstock, VT to indulge in a little country living, spa time, winter activities and great food. So since Valentines Day is less then a month away it's Gift Guide time. This year I based my little round up on all things related to the mushy gushy stuff of hearts, flowers, love and romance. There is a little something for every member of your family and even more treats below in the slideshow of valentine themed presents.

Happy Valentines Day!

You guys, I have a serious problem every time I go into Paper Source. I never walk out without spending way too much and I always think I need everything in the place! Anyone else have this problem/paper addiction? So while I went into the shop hoping to find a sweet card for my valentine, I walked out with lots of goodies to create little gift bags for some friends that we will be celebrating the holiday with. Our night includes pizza, bowling and good company, what are y'all up to?

Love Is In The Air

Well hello February, it's nice to see you! Is it me or is January unbearable longgggggg??? While I am so ready for Spring, it's hard to skip over all the holidays that come before then, including Valentines Day. Now I know this holiday is a total "Hallmark" holiday and that a lot of peeps out there hate the day regardless whether they have a sweetie to share it with or not. I am pretty indifferent to the all the romantic planning behind the special occasion but any day that I get my husband away from his work I am all for. This year we will be celebrating the day with some friends keeping it low key with drinks, bowling and pizza. Does it get better then that? So for those of you out there who want to give a little something to your love, your bestie or someone in your family that means the world to you, below are a few Valentine themed gift ideas for you to help spread the love!

Sip & Snack - Red Velvet

We are a big fan of milkshakes in this house. The last shake recipe I featured was a huge hit with my husband so when I was brainstorming for a Valentines Day themed recipe I thought I would turn to the beloved whipped drink one more time. This time I drew inspiration from a Toronto restaurant called The Lakeview that features an apple pie milkshake which has an entire slice of pie in it. So I thought I would do the same but with a giant red velvet cupcake from our favorite bakery. It's a sip & snack all in one!

Here's how it all went down...

I started with this adorable cupcake that really was so pretty by itself that I almost backed down on destroying it, but it eventually it met its demise.

Two straws in case you feel like sharing with your sweetie - my husband opted to enjoy his solo - it must be an only child thing :)

Ingredients

3 cups vanilla ice cream {I use this low fat brand & love}
3/4 cup milk
1 red velvet cupcake
drop of red food coloring {optional}

Directions

Mix three scoops vanilla ice cream, milk & drop of food coloring in blender till creamy. Once at desired texture add in crumbled cupcake {with frosting if you have a serious sweet tooth}. Blend till evenly distributed, top with your favorite decorations or some whip cream & enjoy!

{want to make this a boozy shake - add in some cake flavored vodka & use red velvet ice cream}
