color crush - navy

This past weekend I ventured away from my routine blah manicure of a pale pink or white and got a bold sapphire navy blue. I never wear dark colors on my nails but I have been on a serious navy kick lately and went for it. While my husband absolutely loathes it, I am glad I gave it a spin and think it's so fun to experiment with color in the form of polish. Since I have been staring at my paws typing all day at work I thought I would put together some of my favorite navy items that I have been coveting because afterall what is there not to love about this classic color. It looks great on everyone and compliments so many other colors brilliantly. The navy J.Crew tank below is the latest edition to my closet, cannot wait to pair it with some dark jeans and my gold metallic pumps on our vacation in Napa next week! Which is your favorite navy item???

Navy on Navy Street Styles

  1. Heidi, my mother used to tell me when I was in high school to stop wearing Navy, because that's all I wore. I believe it compliments blonde hair very well and still cannot help myself from buying everything I see in Navy. I love the fact you chose a darker color for your nails. I have never been aftaid to tru different nail colors, sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and completely change your look as I am aware of exploring more on my own color choices in clothing, especially for winter. It's so easy for Spring and summer, because you can go with the beautiful pinks, blues, yellows, and whites to compliment, but as we head toward winter all I tend to think of is black and black and black. Even though society has shown us the burgundy's, fuchia's, and purple's, we still tend to choose the black over those "fall" colors. What your blog does is show us how to implement those colors into something we are comfortable with pulling out of our closet everyday as opposed to just the black. Keep inspiring us and yourself in choosing what "we" love.
