Farewell 2011

Today is the last post of the year for me. It's bittersweet to say goodbye to 2011 as so many dreams of mine came true in a twelve month span, I truly have felt like the luckiest girl in the world to have had so much good fortune come my way. I am however also very excited for the new year and while it may be a busy one I can't wait to see what happens next in life.  I hope everyone has a wonderful New Years Eve & a fabulous 2012!

How cute is the above little dessert table - the background is just square paper plates displayed to look like a tiled background with paper pinwheels for some extra eye candy. I just love it and the second I have space to entertain I hope to host a dinner party with a table just like it! To purchase the goods to make your own fab display - click this link.

cover it up

I am in desperate need of an IPhone cover and have been on the hunt ever since my gold sparkly cover fell apart.  While I loved the glitter look soooo much - my wireless expert of a husband kept reminding me that the metal pieces were interfering with the signal strength which was frustrating me daily.  I argued back that I couldn't part with the cover because it's like when gorgeous shoes hurt, sometimes to look good things don't always work out as we wish. Well needless to say he was right and I ditched the cover. Since I drop my phone about 20 times a day from pure clumsiness I am now looking for something stylish and durable this time around. Below are my recent finds - which do you fancy or any tips on covers you have and recommend?

a stylish ski getaway

It's finally feeling like winter outside here in the North East. While we have been totally spoiled by the mild temperatures the recent chill in the air has me dreaming of a ski weekend away. My friend's and I used to annually go to Killington, VT where we would party at places like the Pickle Barrel or The Crazy Donky which are a far cry from glamorous ski resort destinations but they were chock full of fun and some of my favorite memories.  The stories that came out of that snowy town always make their way into our "glory days" convo's after a few cocktails. While I can't share these hilarious moments because I might be a few dozen friends short come 2012, I can share my thoughts on a perfect ski vacation from where to stay, what to drink and what to pack!

While I do adore the North East ski scene - I am a bit curious to venture West and visit the oh so chic Aspen. I would imagine staying in a hotel such as the Viceroy Snowmass.

helloooo ski and stay

spa time

outdoor heated pool & cabana - yes please

you had me at outdoor fireplace

this is the best water torture out there

luxe suites for the crucial beauty sleep

the perfect apres ski lounge

I picture I would be drinking this

or this

Stay tuned for part 2 - what to pack!

what to pack - apres ski

Below are two stylish outfits that I just adore and would love to pack for the slopes or simply to  wear to the bars for apres ski. I however never feel this glamorous after skiing, usually my nose is running and as bright as Rudolph's, my hair is in frozen dreadlocks and I'm usually in my TJ Maxx ski pants - BUT if I had my choice, I would be in one of the ensembles below sitting fireside with my gals or the hubs!

hair jewelry part 2 - headbands gone wrong

Now I know this is just my opinion but the below headbands are just absolutely over the top ridiculous. I seriously can't imagine wearing any of them unless it was for A. I was going to be Minnie Mouse for Halloween, B. Mickey Mouse for Halloween or  C. an Indian for Halloween. The yellow floral piece may work for the Brit's but the only place I can picture that it's suitable here in the US is maybe for a Kentucky Derby party, I mean even the model looks like she is about to cry. The turban look is oh so popular right now but I just can't get into it, just a little too much fortune teller for me. I have no words for the giant bow - would any of you wear any of the styles below and how would you wear it???
