Trendspotting - Delicate Layering

Morning friends! You may have recall previous posts about layering statement necklaces here & here, but today I want to leave the bold baubles behind and talk about the lighter more dainty version of the layered look. Wearing multiple necklaces at once, finding the perfect blend of lengths and coordination of metals can be a bit of a challenge. Don't even get me started on the tangling repercussions of all of the above. So when I started noticing brands were making the layered look simple with styles that have it all done for you all in one clasp, I was sold. I did a little round up of my favorites below and I am happy to report these are all super affordable under $100!

White on White

Mae West once said "too much of a good thing can be wonderful".  This is my exact sentiment when it comes to necklaces, a statement necklace in particular. Come warmer weather I am especially loving them in an all white color palette. I adore the monotone pairing of white on white and always feel like it's a classic look for day or night. A few examples are below.

Bauble Bar in Boston

Happy Monday friends, I hope you all had a great weekend! I wanted to start the day off with a fun Baublebar event taking place later this week at The Bonobos Guideshop here in Boston. I will be attending the start of the events on Thursday {6/13} and hope you will join me and some other bloggers in the fun! I already picked up this pretty little bauble to possibly wear to the party but I also have my eye on a few other favorites like the beauties below. If you are interested in attending just click the image above to register, its super quick and easy - hope to see you there!

lovely layers

Its pretty safe to say that I have an obsession with statement necklaces, especially those from J.Crew. My absolute favorite way to wear them is to layer them with similar colors and styles over a crew neck type of top. Some examples of my personal layering style are here, here & here {for a longer option of layering}. To help give you a little inspiration of some lovely layering options I selected a few of my favorite J.Crew beauties below. Any of these combinations can instantly transform an outfit from boring to fabulous in a hot second. The best part is that J.Crew is having an incredible sale right now so splurging isn't as hard on the old bank account!

DIY - striped jewelry tray

It's safe to say I have a bit of a necklace obsession, specifically those from J.Crew. My collection has been overflowing my West Elm jewelry boxes leaving me little room to add more {queue my husbands fist pump for our bank account}. So instead of curbing my ridiculous addiction I decided to create a pretty and simple way to have these beauties on display without having to always store them away. If you ask me they are too pretty to hide away when they are not being worn.
Check out the details of how to create your own jewelry tray.

I picked up a basic wood tray and some paint pens at Michaels

I spray painted the wood tray white

taped out my desired stripes

filled in the stripes in my color of choice

let dry & peel off painters tape and add another set of stripes in a coordinating color

finally add in your favorite baubles for display!
