The super brutal winter here in Boston has left me feeling sour towards our little city. We often joke our dream life would include living on Nantucket in the summer, Boston in the autumn/spring and somewhere warm for the winter. Our brief getaway to St. Barth's has me majorly craving long summer days, the feeling of the sun on my skin, the ability to leave the house without layers and trading in my snow boots for flip flops. I feel it's safe to say that after the holidays and the first snow fall winter loses it's luster. So while that dreamy habitation of a new city for each season may not be realistic we have seriously considered renting a home somewhere new and warm for a year before we have any real commitments to home ownership, pet's or a family of our own. I have searched every warm weather climate I could think from the east coast to the desert southwest and finally California where I stumbled upon this amazing little black and white cottage that has me quickly reaching for the suntan lotion and packing my bags with summer clothes. I seriously can't believe how adorable this rental is and being steps from the beach is really just a luxury I would donate an organ for. It's so hard to find rentals that have stylish furnishings and finishes. This bungalow has it all and much much more. Take a look at all the gorgeous photos and shop some home items at the bottom to get this modern beach look for yourself.

Style & Real Estate - Renters Paradise
My husband and I have had a lot of experience renting homes. We rent the same home every year on Nantucket, we rent our apartment in Boston & currently am living in a rental in New York City. Until we find our forever home we love the lessons we learn with each property we rent from. What appliances we love & hate, what design features works for us & what doesn't and so on. So when we were planning our next adventure, I was intrigued to check out Air BNB. I read lots of reviews, talked with friends who loved their experience abroad & stateside as well as conducted my own research for a stellar property that could intrigue me enough to give up the hotel luxuries and conveniences that are oh so dreamy while traveling. So when I saw the The Adobe Creative Suite based in Los Angeles, I was quickly intrigued by it's affordable nightly rate, stylish interiors and excellent location. Wouldn't this be such a fun place for a getaway on the West Coast where you can live like a local for a few days?

Motel Chic - Farmer's Daughter
Morning friends! I just got off a very bumpy flight from Arizona where four glasses of wine and a dose of dramamine couldn't even knock my anxiety out. So needless to say I am happy to be back in Boston for a few days, even if it's rainy. During our brief stay in the desert I did a bit of reading of local magazines and came across this cute remodeled boutique hotel called the Farmer's Daughter. Located in the heart of Los Angeles this kitschy hotel offers a modern meets country vibe. The hotel oozes that laid back California attitude that is so well known on the West coast. I mean one of the rooms is even called the "no tell" room featuring a mirrored celling for spicing things up. The decor boasts simple designs like Adirondack chairs, denim duvet's and plaid accents all the while keeping up with contemporary amenities you would expect in hotels these days like wifi, pool, in room dining and so on. Take a look for yourself at some of the hotels offerings with the images below.
Oh & check out there cute restaurant Tart that serves up creative eats.

Take Me Away - Hollywood
Morning friends! So sorry for the late post but the internet at our hotel is absolutely atrocious, making it impossible to blog or get any work done..so I will make today quick or my lap top might wind up 25 stories down onto the NYC sidewalk out of sheer frustration. I have only been to Los Angeles twice and at the time I thought that was enough for me as I wasn't fully impressed with the people or what I felt was a very superficial vibe. However, following some LA bloggers and other creative types, I realize my visit about a decade ago was simply one that I wasn't going to the right places. Enter Lombardi House, a beautiful restored former residence in Hollywood turned into a darling inn. The well furnished mansion was thoughtfully designed by Amber Interiors and offers four stylish suites for it's guest accommodations. Oh and to boot you can also host a stylish soiree in their former garage that has been renovated into chic event space. Just take a look below at the gorgeous images, classic design and old hollywood glamour this mansion has been restored too.
how amazing would a party be in this all white space - oh the decorating possibilities!

Napa Revisited
I have shared lots about Napa, California here on the blog. First it was inspiration for a dear friends nuptials, then it was a recap of our stay in the majestic countryside and finally the most amazing rental home for those traveling with a big group of people. So why am I revisiting the city I have covered so many times...well my dad is a total wineo and has never been to wine country so I am in the midst of planning another trip there for this fall and would love any suggestions you all may have on places I haven't been!
While the resort itself is lovely at The Carneros Inn, it was quite possibly the worst service I have ever received at a hotel. So this time around I am interested in staying somewhere different. The two front runners are Auberge Du Soleil and Hotel Yountville. Which would you choose???
