dessert in a jar

Friends are you totally sick of my mason jar posts yet??? I promise this is my last one for a long while. I am concerned I may have a problem as I can't seem to stop purchasing these babies in every size available. My reaction each time I see one is almost equal to that of seeing a puppy on the street. I must stop, look at & play with. Last weekend while in Portsmouth, NH for the day I stopped in a cooking store and picked up these mini jars knowing I wanted to do something with them for the blog. Originally I thought a homemade face scrub but then I remembered I am super lazy and barely wash my face at night so I wouldn't be true to myself in that department. Then I thought flavored sugar for cocktails but they took some time to infuse the flavor into the sugar and I am also pretty impatient so that was a no go. Finally I decided on a strawberry crumble. Mostly because I had everything I needed for it in the house and I have a serious sweet tooth.
Below is how it all went down - enjoy!

Crumble Ingredients

1 stick non salted butter
1 cup flour
1 cup oats
1/2 cup sugar
2 teaspoons cinnamon

Filling Ingredients

2 pints strawberries quartered
{I used one for this post since I was making a half portion}
1/2 cup sugar
 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
dash of cinnamon

Directions

Mix all crumble ingredients together in a bowl and thoroughly blend with a fork till the butter forms small pebbles throughout.

Mix all ingredients on the washed berries till evenly blended.

Layer crumble into the bottom of the mini mason jars then add strawberry filling then top with crumble again.

Bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees
{I put my crumbles on baking sheets as to catch any drippings}

makes 6 mini crumbles
p.s. add vanilla ice cream on the side for extra indulgence
