Falling for Fall

It's a balmy 85 degrees outside and as I sit in the frigid air conditioning drinking my morning tea I am dreaming of cooler weather days and the wardrobe that goes with it. It had me thinking of a few essentials that are needed in every wardrobe to get started for a new season. Below are a few items that keep on trend  for the fall fashions but also will allow you to utilize each piece in your wardrobe over and over again.

When in Paris for my birthday this year I noticed a few things. Fur and leather was everywhere. Whether you wear the real deal or not (no need to call Peta people, I wear faux fur) fur is hot, hot, hot! I personally think it looks super chic in the vest version and love pairing it with denim or over a leather jacket.  Just look how fab it is worn in the images below.

Coated Denim

If leather pants aint yo thang or in your budget I think the next best thing is coated denim. Giving your jeans a waxy like finish that resembles leather is better for the bank account & a must have this fall.

Animal Print

You all likely already know of my love affair with anything animal print and my favorite use of it in the wardrobe is on the tootsies! After-all it was a pair of Michael Kors leopard pumps that got my now husbands attention back in '08 when I was wearing them around the office. I love this pattern in a flat or a pump & these babies are destined to be mine this upcoming autumn.

Poncho's & Cape's

I think the poncho might just be the most comfortable thing ever made and looks great paired with skinny jeans and knee boots or flats for a crisp fall day. I adore how it looks in outerwear and in sweaters.

Something Green

The big color for fall is what we used to call hunter green but I am sure there is a way cooler name for it now. I will stick with hunter or forest green because that is exactly how I remember it. I always like to test the waters on a new color or trend by investing in an accessory first. A bag or a bauble is a great way to add color into your wardrobe without having to be smothered in it.
