The Stylish Soirée - Napa Edition

Last night I had a date with my couch and caught up on the shows that I usually don't want anyone to know I enjoy watching. I will keep most of my guilty pleasures my little secret for now but divulge that I am absolutely addicted to The Real Housewives of Beverley Hills. Catching up on this ridiculous show I was appalled by the wedding decor that housewife Lisa Vanderpump was selecting for her daughter Pandora's upcoming wedding. The furry and bedazzled buckle wrapped invite was absolutely atrocious.  I couldn't believe that they were all ooohing and ahhhhing over that pepto and cream colored mess. It made me remember a quote from Dolly Parton "It takes a lot of money to look this cheap".  With all of their wealth & knowing this event was going to be on national TV you think they would have some taste! My real sympathy lies with the groom, can you imagine when his buddies get the invite below and call him to rag on him for this hot mess.

Below is the eye sore of an invitation ~

Well enough about that horrific wedding design that I of course will be tuned in to see in its full glory. The recent engagement of one of my dearest friends combined with this evening's television selection had me dreaming of a different type of California wedding. Next fall my husband and I have the honor of attending a wedding in beautiful Napa Valley. As soon as she was engaged I started an inspiration board for all the things that screamed out an elegant wine country wedding to help her get the wedding plans on their way. This bride already has stellar style so she didn't need any help. I think this little project was more for me (self proclaimed wedding addict) then her but she obliged to taking a look at the board and even made me feel like I had somehow helped with her overall wedding vision in some small way even though we all know every bride knows exactly what they want the second they are engaged. Needless to say she is a good friend.

Below are some images (& shopping links for those planning brides) that I believe would make a chic northern California wedding!

I would imagine the landscape would look like this

the classic letterpress invitation

the bride's dress would vera - enough said

her shoes would be manolo

with matching clutch

bridesmaids would be in monique

the flowers would be warm colors to coordinate with the fall season

cocktail table centerpieces with glitter pumpkins

ceremony decor would be rustic and elegant

reception tables would be decorated with mercury glass votives

the table numbers

the table setting

the vintage key escort card

the keys

the tags

pillows for the bride and grooms chairs

a vintage guest book with the bride and grooms initials

signage for the guest book table

a place for the cards

a home made wine crate table to display them on

the favor bag filled with choice of goodies

the signature cocktail - lavender & champagne

wedding rings holder

What would your dream wedding look like?

  2. With a destination like Napa, you can't NOT have a gorgeous wedding (I'd like to think!). Anything 'M' decides on will be gorgeous! Can't wait for you to share pictures!
