selecting your wedding colors

One of the hardest things for me when I started to plan our wedding was picking a color palette that I wanted to define the overall look of our wedding, it was very important for me to pick something that I wouldn't hate looking back on as we get older.  I am again experiencing this challenge with the redesign of my blog and picking something I wont want to change in six months. I originally wanted a grey and white wedding with a photograph theme. Photos for the escort cards, Polaroids for the guest book, favors etc. However almost everyone I spoke to said that the colors were blah and wouldn't photograph well. So I moved along to the complete opposite direction and went with bright bold colors and never looked back.  The importance of picking the perfect colors are so important right away, brides will want to order the bridesmaid dresses, pick out save the dates/invitation suites, meet with the florists, linens and so on. So how do you pick your colors? So many brides will flip through a zillion bridal magazines and start an inspiration book for all their favorites, browse the blogs for what other brides have done before, pin your hearts away on pinterest and start a wedding board or you can just sit back and let the colors come to you! What the heck do you mean, colors come to me? Well think of it this way inspiration is all around you, there are endless resources for everything from decorating your home, artwork, putting together an outfit or even preparing a meal.  When you see something you like photograph it or save someone else's photographs. Your colors can come from anything in your life. To see what I mean check out the examples below. What color combo would you like to see???

  1. I've always loved gray and lately, I'm obsessed with gray and yellow so that is my pick!

  2. I am not a huge yellow person but it's so beautifully paired with grey. I think if I could have another wedding (same groom of course) I would do the beiges & blushes, so soft & pretty & total opposite from what I did at our wedding!
