For The Love Of The Weekend Getaway - Austin Edition

We are back and rested after a very fun weekend away in Austin, Texas. My husband was a panel speaker at the prestigious Raptor House where he spoke about technology and the internet as well as the spectrum crisis which he has devoted his career to solving. It was so informative yet really fun to combine creative types along with finance people to get interesting conversations going. I mean where else do you get music, technology, film and culture all in one event? The best part was how laid back it was. I didn't feel an ounce of pretentious behavior amongst all these big players in their respective fields which just set the mood for a relaxed networking environment. I also was surprised how much was relevant to me and this little blog here.  I got so much out of listening to the variety of guest speakers over the course of the two day event as well enjoyed private concerts with Elle King, Melanie Fiona, Big Sean and Nick Jonas.  Between discussions we ventured out to explore the city a bit where I snapped up a few photos. Thank you to my friends for all their recommendations, we definitely enjoyed every delicious bite of food in Austin's incredible restaurant/food truck scene!

The beautiful Hotel St. Cecilia & the sweet ride {seriously want} that was out front.

Stage at Raptor House.

Some vintage shopping at Uncommon Objects.

Got our country gear fix at Allen's Boots

Delicious lunch at the Austin Motel, Snack Bar where mimosas are served in a chemistry beaker, yes please.

Carnitas tacos at Torchy's. It really as a damn good taco!

The most decadent donuts at Gourdough's

Want more of where to eat, sleep and stay in Austin? I found these three city guides - Domaine HomeCamille Styles & The Every Girl super helpful and after seeing them in person, they are pretty spot on for the best of the best the city has to offer!
