Golden Globes - Style Trial

As always the Golden Globes gives us bloggers something to dish about the Monday after. Thankfully so as I had no friggin clue what to write about today. While my absolute favorite reviews come from Fashion Police the following day, I thought I would share my picks on the good and the bad.

Let's start with the ladies who rocked the red carpet with plenty of style. The following three looks were my absolute favorite of the night!

Winning look of the night - Margot Robbie killed it in this plunge neckline crystal trim dress. STUNNING but those emerald loubs look way too kardashian and need to go away stat, they don't even fit and are way too bulky for this beauty.

Runner up is a tie from Lupita Nyong'o - who took fashion notes from Gwyneth Paltrow & Amber Heard who is a knockout in this sapphire gown.

There was also some serious prego perfection strolling the red carpet and it was found on the two stunners Olivia Wilde and Kerry Washington. I mean seriously, can these two look better with child??? I am pretty sure I their baby bump is equal to my mid section after a bowl of pasta.

While I love Drew Barrymore, this dress was all wrong, all that embellishment doesn't do any woman any favors, never mind on a bump!

Paula Patton has an incredible bod but this dress literally looks like a box of tissues. Make it go away.

Joanna Newsom clearly forgot her cane and sheep with this Little Bo Peep look. My eyes are bleeding.

Apparently style runs in this family as the trio killed it with their soft color palette and chic dresses.

Sophia Vergara finally opted for a different silhouette then her usual mermaid gown & looked amazing. I would have left off the necklace and preferred big earrings but hot damn her figure is perfection.

Emma Watson took a fashion risk with this dress/pants combo. I personally loved it & think it is perfect for her youthful look.

They killed it on the stage with their hilarious jokes but one funny lady nailed her look and one got it all wrong. Do I really need to elaborate further who falls under each category??? Luckily for Tina Fey there was a wardrobe change before she hit the stage for hosting duties where her second ruby colored dressed knocked it out of the park.

These ladies all went with the color block trend but the only one that got it right was Amy Adams who was channeling her American Hustle era of style.  The color combo on Sandra Bullock wasn't working for me and the purple number at the end just screams I'm a bridesmaid.

Anyone remember Mad Max Beyond The Thunderdome??? Clearly inspiration was pulled from that for the two gowns below.

The halter dresses on Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Reese Witherspoon are simple and safe, I don't have much to say about them but what is up with the hair & makeup. They are both too bare and boring!

My complete loyalty to Fashion Police has given me some knowledge that George Kotsiopoulos hates wearing socks - something I totally can relate too {so claustrophobic} but those pants are way too Huck Finn inspired and unacceptable for someone who is a stylist for a living. Jay Manuel also is a offender with his bottom half. The metallic printed pants look like they were someones curtains from the 70's.

  1. I agree with almost everything, but respectfully disagree with Sandra Bullock's dress. She just has a knack of pairing colors together and somehow they just work on her. I could never pull that look off, but she's almost 50 and is just flawless.
