One of my husbands favorite snacks is also one of the easiest treats to make, so it's a win for both of us. Affogato is simply a scoop of vanilla ice cream or gelato that has a shot of hot espresso poured over it. I however wanted to amp up the recipe a bit and do what I do best...add alcohol and some toppings to give this old fashioned dessert more of a modern twist. While I selected almond flavors to go along with a pre-made biscotti for dipping, the fun part of this recipe is you can make it with whatever toppings you prefer. Ingredients
1 scoop of Häagan-Daaz Vanilla Swiss Almond Ice Cream
1 cup espresso {I use Nespresso, Livanto}
1 teaspoon almond slivers
1 chocolate dipped biscotti {Nonni's is our favorite}
1 oz Amaretto
Directions
Brew espresso & add in Amaretto then pour over a scoop of ice cream, garnish almond slivers and biscotti for dipping.
