Back in October my husband and I took a wonderful week long vacation to Napa, CA. When we first landed in SFO we headed straight to the buzzed out about ferry building for lunch at The Slanted Door. Which was super delicious but what took us by surprise was a visit to one of the many unique vendors in this open marketplace. Our favorite stop was Boccalone Salumeria. I had first heard about this little shop on my beloved Food Network and knew it would be perfect to take my carnivorous husband for a quick snack. Well let me tell you, this place didn't disappoint. We tried what they call a "meat cone" which was the daily selection of their home made cured meats along with a shared dry orange soda. While I am not a huge soda drinker, this soda was only 50 calories and seriously the most delicious thing ever. I can't find anywhere in Boston so I thought I would try to make my own without having to purchase one of those soda machines.
Below is my remake of our favorite ferry building snacks but with a twist!
