When I came across the below image from Martha Stewart Weddings I instantly saved for future use. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with it as the entire feature of the wedding where it came from was truly magnificent You can see the fete in all it's gorgeousness here. This Boston couple really stayed true to their style and every little detail down to the bug spray was tended to an overall look that represented their personal taste. While I adore their nod to "old Floridan" styles. I am especially smitten with the combining of modern elements along with the vintage styles. I mean, those chairs and linens are so perfectly matched with the old copper decor. The icing on the cake is those bright centerpieces that take center stage. So...moving along, when I saw coverage on Marc Jacobs Spring 2013 line of "nod to mod" featuring lots of black and white stripes, I instantly was reminded of this image and decided to create this stylish soiree into an on trend ensemble that is less Beetle-Juice and more suitable for everyday wear.
Stripes are great any time of year. I could have easily picked out a classic striped t or dress to base the outfit around but when I saw this boyfriend cardigan with the adorable elbow patch that matches the hue in the florals above I knew that was my starting point. I paired it with the worlds best tank top {I'm obsessed with this brand}. It also ties in the look of the white china and chairs in the above photo. The bronze jewelry represents the decor elements used around the table as well as the floral clutch is self explanatory. Adding skinny denim and a classic ankle bootie give {cognac suede coordinates with the bronze vases} this look a casual yet stylish everyday look, the best part, everything is under $100!
That is a gorgeous table. Love the outfit, too!
