I have been toying with the idea of trying a new hair style for 2012. Since I have been sporting the same haircut for the past eight or nine years I was trying to think of what I could do differently that would allow me to still keep my hair long but also change my overall look, I automatically thought bangs were the answer. I have been obsessing with the idea for some time and love them more every time I see them in a mag or on someone walking around the city. I just don't know if I can muster up the courage to actually go through with it! I definitely don't want to look like I did when I was five and the bangs started halfway through the back of my head. I texted my sister my thoughts and her quickest turnaround time ever was "don't do it, they are annoying". This sort of made me hit the breaks on my plans to do it since she usually does know what is best for me even though I hate admitting shes right 99.9% of the time. Some of the hair styles that are rocking the bangs looks that I love are below - bangs - love them or hate them???
so pretty
love the side sweep bangs
maybe the key is to keep the extra long so if I hate them it's not too drastic
very Anna Wintour
so cute but I think a little too short
love them with a center part
adorable with wavy hair
again with the extra long
less daring but so pretty
a bit too bold for me
perfecto
so cute with hair pulled back
Any new looks for anyone else this year???

Hmm...to bang or not to bang (hehe) - great question! I feel like bangs done right (and on the right "canvas") are amazing, but that even the slightest missnip (new word) has the power to ruin every moment of your life until the day they grow back out (okay...maybe a little dramatic, but it makes my eyebrows itch just thinking about). Final answer = I love them on OTHER people :-)
ReplyDeleteso true - just might be one of those things that look great on other people! I am not sure I am ready to take the scissors to the locks just yet!
ReplyDeleteEven tho my sisters tell me I've had the same hair cut since middle school, I did have the side bangs on the longer side a couple years ago. They do look cute but require maintenance and I felt like they were always in my face. I agree with the funny first commenter - like em on other people.
ReplyDeleteLOVE em on other people...always regret them on myself. Every time I attempt them, I foolishly think they will turn out differently. "other" people always have all the luck!
