Color Crush - Blue & White

Come warmer temps I find myself gravitating towards everything blue and white. In my book the two hues paired together just might be the best color combination ever. They work so well together in a variety of shades and the selection of stylish items available for your home or your closet right now are endless.  A few favorites are below.

Untitled #771

This Ralph Lauren Black Label top might be the buy of the century. I wish it was available in my size, it is so cute in person and  can be worn as a top or a light summer jacket.

An animal print clutch that is perfect for every summer outfit.

A classic color block blanket for cool summer night snuggle sessions.

Being "green" never looked so good, loving on this swirl water bottle

A nautical scarf will instantly add prep to your ensemble. I love it paired with the tassel bracelet in the coordinating color.

Growing up beach paddle was a something always packed for a day by the ocean, but they were never this cute!

I am totally obsessed with this coverup. I may just have to suck up the expensive price tag & purchase.

This pretty printed top could be the best top of the summer, loose fitting with a subtle pattern and looks amazing with white denim

A pair of blue swirl planters are so pretty with any color flower in them. I personally would fill with white hydrangeas.

This trio of baskets is perfectly pretty to store blankets, toys or even as a hamper.

Stripes & dots in a preppy navy/white color combo equals pillow perfection

Stackable chevron bone boxes with indigo accents will be pretty on any shelf to store petite trinkets.

Ikat shorts are super cute for casual days with a t-shirt and sandals.

Comfy pajamas for when the temperatures rise and wearing pants seems claustrophobic.

A beautiful patterned tray for serving snacks on.

Smells Like Summer

Over the long holiday weekend my sister and I dropped in our favorite little island shop Dabney Lee {also located in DUMBO, Brooklyn for the city folk} for some fun summer goodies. While we both left with bags full of assorted treats one set of products really set itself apart from the rest and that was the handcrafted items from The Shore Soap Company. I have to admit that I am pretty picky when it comes to scents and when I tested out all of this companies line I was loving each and every thing they made. When I learned that they were handcrafted in my beloved Newport, RI and was made with quality natural ingredients I was completely sold. I picked up the coconut body butter which has a super velvety texture that moisturized my dry skin without feeling oily. I love that it quickly absorbed into my skin and even left me with a subtle summer glow, never mind you smell like a day at the beach after applying it. My other favorite was the solid perfume balm in the scent mermaid kisses. Not only is it adorable in it's petite container {perfect for throwing in your purse} but the fragrance is completely intoxicating. I kept smelling my wrist over and over after applying. It will definitely be my go to all summer long. I can't wait to visit their retail shop next month when we return to where it all happened to celebrate our fourth wedding anniversary. Check out some of my favorite products from this seaside brand, I mean, the nautical packaging alone is worth trying the brand. It's safe to say I am obsessed!

Stylish Sales

As the holiday weekend approaches you can always count on the retailers having a slew of great sales. I put together a few of my favorites online sales and stylish items from each store that will help create the perfect summer wardrobe without breaking the bank!

Amazon fashion is a new resource to me. I love their variety of brands and sizes along with easy checkout & shipping. A fun feature of their shopping experience is seeing the fashions in movement as well as the ability to zoom in on the styles to see the details up close. I am particularly impressed with their dress department that has a huge selection of fashions that will take you from summer weddings to casual days at the beach. Use code FUN20SUN for 20% off select fashions, valid 5/19 - 5/25.

J.Crew is having a major sale right now and on a ton of new arrivals! My shopping cart is out of control, need to narrow it down STAT. Oh & Boston peeps - if you are around tomorrow come see my friend Lauren host the "first look" event 6-8 at the Copley store. Use code SUMMERLOVE at checkout to save 25% or if you have a store credit card you save 30% with code CARDLOVE. Valid to 5/21.

Nordstrom is having it's half yearly sale where tons of fabulous items are deeply discounted.

My favorite store Club Monaco is offering 30% off sale & clearance with code MEMORIALDAY.

Currently Coveting

Over the course of the last two weeks I am pretty sure I have covered all of the North Shore and Metro West neighborhoods shopping for new apartment furniture. I originally thought I would purchase everything online to make things easy breezy but as I gave it more thought I knew I needed to see things in person, match color swatches and test everything out in store. It's been a ton of fun but good lord I am annoying myself with my indecisiveness. Since some of my home shopping took me to plaza's where some clothing stores were their neighbors, I naturally had to pop in to see what is new in the fashion world and possibly pick up a few treats for myself this summer. So below is a little home and fashion round up of everything I am loving right now!

Untitled #769

Since we changed our entire look of the guest room {will share post on that soon} in our new place to a traditional queen bed for comfort for our guests I am all about accessorizing the room. I love this little trio of bone boxes for the nightstands. I also love these metallic boxes that are a bit more glamorous.

This dress might be the best little white dress you can buy all summer. I'm telling you, you will love it. It comes in so many amazing colors and fits awesome. It's a bit loose which means it's comfortable but the flirty hem is so fun and shows just the right amount of leg.

I need pillows for our master bedroom and would love to add some color some patterns. I am totally obsessed with all of Rebecca Atwood's designs, her signature brass zipper is the icing on the cake, such a special detail and her prints mix so well with each other.

This jumpsuit screams easy dressing for summer. I saw it in person and passed on buying but know I will be placing an order on it stat. When I am indecisive on a purchase I usually sleep on it and if I still want it the next day then I pull the purchasing trigger.

This pink box clutch with it's sassy tassel is everything. The perfect pop of color for summer evenings out.

I have a new favorite lip gloss. Chanel's glossimer is not only long lasting but this color stands well on it's own with no lipstick base. I have worn it over several lip sticks {specifically Nars "sex machine" & "never say never"} and on it's own and have loved it each time.

Summer is 100% rosè season so naturally my phone needed a new outfit to celebrate this delicious blush colored wine.

I am so happy flared jeans are back in. They make your legs look super long and they are so cute with summer wedges and heels. They would look so amazing with this top for a nod to  a retro 70's look but that is so relevant in todays trends. Also would be a more sophisticated look with this blazer & tank

These sandals are my favorite thing in my closet {seen here & here}. Not only are they super comfortable they also go with everything in my closet. They look great with denim, dresses, skirts, rompers and so on. I want them in every color!

Finally a pouf for my husband. We were so indecisive on a coffee table for our living room that would function as a place for drinks/snacks as well as a place to kick back and put your feet up. So while we opted for a glass coffee table {will share which one when we get it in} I still need to get my guy a comfy ottoman for putting his feet up while watching tv.

Float On

With Memorial Day quickly approaching I have nothing but summer on my mind. I can't wait for days by the beach, cookouts with friends and family, boat rides and long days of sunshine all make for the perfect warm weather days. Since we spend a lot of time out on Shelter Island where the beaches are quite rocky we often find ourselves lounging poolside. To amp up the fun in the water I put together a few of my favorite floats that will be most definitely be fun for any member of the family. I just can't decide which one to pack in my suitcase for the long weekend!

Draper James

Have you guys checked out the new e-commerce site by Reese Witherspoon, Draper James? The site got it's name by combining the actresses grandparents last names and represents all things related to her southern roots. I browsed through a bit of the merchandise online and was reminded of another brand that had similar merchandise, C. Wonder. I found myself gravitating to the items you can personalize versus the "Draper James" monogram. I don't really understand the draw on wanting her grandparents initials on your items, but hey...to each their own. The pricing seems fair compared to her celebrity counterparts also doing there thing on the web {I am looking at you Preserve & Goop}. I wanted to share a few of my favorites and get your opinion on this trend of celebrities venturing out into the blogging and e-commerce world, should they stick to acting or is there room for everyone to try new things?

Around Here

Hey there friends! I have been a BAD blogger and this little site has had some serious neglect. Life lately has been filled with so many happy times and I have just been living in the moment and enjoying them. With our upcoming move, work, travel and family holidays life has been a bit of beautiful blur. I haven't felt very inspired lately which has caused the real radio silence on my little corner of the web. So moving forward I will be taking some time off till we are settled and only be sharing once or twice a week versus the usual scheduling. I hope to be back to regular programming when we are settled in our new home by the end of June!
