Merry Everything!

Morning everyone! Last post for this year...I am taking some time off to enjoy the holidays with my family, friends & my husband. I hope you have a wonderful holiday with your favorite people and that santa brings you everything you could have wished for...see you in 2015 {along with a blog redesign early January}. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!!!

Room In A Box

Last night after an amazing very late brunch at Rosemary's in the West Village my husband and I strolled around the city and found ourselves at the Christmas Market's in Union Square Park. While the crowds were a bit overwhelming, the holiday spirit NYC this time of year trumps any of those inconveniences. One little shop that caught my eye was Remodo. Not only was the gal working the booth super friendly and helpful, all of their shops contents were seriously stylish {unlike so many of the homemade crafts surrounding them}. I was instantly drawn to their "room in a box" design product which allows you to shop bedroom decor by color and gives you all the essentials of a fashionable room in one easy purchase. Great for a gal going to college, a new home owner or someone who gets stumped with interior design. I personally love that the products aren't all so matchy-matchy and instead offer a variety of mixed prints and textures to give your bedroom a stylish cohesive makeover without any headaches. Only need a few home accessories? Well they got that too, just check out some of my favorites below!

Bauble Crush - Monica Rich Kosann

There are a lot of gifts out there on the market that combine a sentimental value combined with jewelry, but very rarely is it done with such style and grace. Enter Monica Rich Kosann designs of modern heirloom jewelry that brings together luxury, timeless style and a truly memorable piece of jewelry to treasure. I am personally in awe of the lockets that can hold a treasured photo or moment in time of loved ones. The bracelets also boast beautiful trinkets to celebrate moments in life with stunning charms. But there is so much more on her site besides just the few favorites below I shared. They make great gifts for a new mom, bride and or just the loved women in your life to have forever.

Trendspotting - Varsity Wear

All over NYC I am spotting stylish men and women. There literally is fashion inspiration everywhere  I look {along with some stellar people watching}. Over the weekend I noticed a very stylish woman wearing this varsity jacket with some black skinny denim and black booties. I absolutely loved the look. She was stylish & comfortable without looking like a teenager, something I find hard to pull off as an adult wanting to try new trends. So inspired by this real life street style I put together a few of my favorite varsity jackets to help recreate the look. Shop all the styles for every member of your family below.

Cash or Credit - NYC Wear

Happy Friday friends! I am so excited to be hosting family in town this weekend. We have been lucky to have had a bit more space during our stay in NYC allowing me to exercise my hosting skills. My real challenge in Manhattan has been dressing comfortably and yet maintaining style. You know wearing heels everyday isn't realistic in a city where you walk everywhere. I have been living in a very warm coat, stretchy skinny jeans, silk blouses and my favorite booties. So I created a little cash or credit featuring my weekday wardrobe for strolling around this amazing city. Have a great weekend everyone!

Holiday Gift Guide - Beauty Gifts

Let's face it, we all need a little bit of help from beauty products in our life. I do not know a single woman who doesn't at least wear lip gloss {this one is my favorite combined with thisin "nude beach" as the base color} or use some sort of tinted moisturizer to help brighten their skin. Even men have become a significant market in the beauty industry with launches of new shaving products and skin care regimens. I personally can find myself playing for hours in Sephora and have a very long beauty wish list that I may have sent to Santa. So I pulled together a few of my favorites for gifting to your beauty obsessed people. Everything from getting the perfect beach wavy hair to a bright white smile {even something for the fellas} is in a little gift guide below. Happy Shopping!

Some go with one another to create a perfect pair and some are just fabulous on their own. Spending less on a gift doesn't mean sacrificing style. Check out the little wallet friendly round up below for small gifts that will definitely put a smile on anyones face.

A One Woman Party

When I stumbled across Packed Party on Instagram I knew this fun company would instantly be bookmarked to my favorites for gifting. What is it you ask? Well basically its a cute little package you buy online that filled with treats from incredible brands, clever and sassy notes and a slew of occasions {from birthdays to promotions to breakups} to send to your favorite gal pal. Each package is put together upon order so the exact contents are always changing which really makes this a fun way to surprise the recipient {and yourself}. I am personally loving the "Miss You Bitch" set {which I would send up to my bestie in Maine had I not already mailed her Christmas gift last week} along with the "Thanks A Million" to tell someone how grateful you are and the "You Don't Need Him Anyway" break up box for the friend who needs a little cheering up after a some heartache. I am so in love with this idea & can't wait to send one to someone I love {hopefully not for the breakup package}. Just take a look for yourself at all the cute contents of this cheerful company.

Holiday Gift Guide - Monogrammed Mania

I love a personalized gift. It really shows the recipient you've taken the time to make the gift super special. However, time is often needed to allow for the customization to take place. That is unless you gift something - pre-monogrammed like an initial. I put together a few of my favorite monogrammed gifts below in a little holiday guide round up for those who love a bespoke gift as much as I do.

Holiday Gift Guide - Experience Gifts

Theres a new trend going around where you gift each other the gift of an experience. I know some of my cousins are doing it within their families and I am personally all about the idea of making  memories with the people you love the most. So I thought I would share a few ideas to help inspire the planning of a gift of doing.

Amp up date night with a private viewing in a luxury theater and dinner at one of NY's fancy restaurants. More fabulous finds here.

Cloud 9 Living is a site that allows you to choose experience gifts by city. They literally have something for everyone & searching is easy by filtering out your recipient & their interests. Think foodie tours, flying lessons, cruises & so much more. Another great resource for similar items can be found here..
Chicago & NYC are so lucky to have this foodie heaven also known as Eataly. I love the idea of going to a culinary experience with a class or a dinner together where you have fun & maybe even learn something new. Also, if you want to pick up some treats to bring home...it's all under one roof. In Boston we love attending Formaggio Kitchen classes. Nationally, Sur La Table & William Sonoma offer similar options.

Confession, I love bowling. We played here on Valentines day this past year with a group of friends and over the summer again with my nieces but my favorite had to be luxury bowling the first night of my bachelorette at Foxwoods. Why not plan a night of bowling & make custom shirts with a funny team name for everyone to wear to take a great snap as a keepsake.

I love to travel by train. This train trip is still on my travel bucket list. Since going to Italy isn't something you can sort of plan spontaneously. An Amtrak observation car trip could be more realistic. The Coast Starlight linking California to Seattle looks especially intriguing with the floor to celling windows and incredible coastline views.

Spend the day learning the stunts from the big motion pictures.

Money not an object? Neiman Marcus is your one stop shop for fantasy gifts. Just expect to pay BIG.

Holiday Gift Guide - For The Tech Obsessed

Tech gifts are always big in our house no matter the age of the recipient. As my nieces get older they are more into computers then toys which means gift giving can get a little challenging & expensive. I personally love gifting tech accessories and gadgets, it's always fun to see the person open up a gift that is something they may not have known about. My top picks for gadgets & tech gifts are below, as always at all different price points.

For The Love Of Etsy - Christmas Edition

I usually turn to Etsy to find unique decor items for celebrations I am hosting, helping plan or attending. So why not turn to this crafty resource for some treats for the holiday season. A put together a round of a few of my favorites below to help host the holiday season in style.

This Christmas sign is sweet and stylish. Would look so pretty layered with a larger mirror and candles on a fireplace mantle hung with lots of Christmas stockings

I love this simple gift wrap inspiration. All you need is some baker's twine and these darling calligraphy tags which come in a bunch of holiday terms.

I love the idea of having some fun with the holiday photos, I know my nieces would love to have some holiday props to make the family photo extra silly.

I have turned to Palomas Nest many times for sweet wedding dishes, her Christmas stockings are equally darling and I am seriously smitten with the all white color scheme.

Studio Mucci is the queen of the tassel garland, so naturally her holiday collection is fabulous. Would look super cute paired with the Merry Christmas mini gold balloons

Cheerful Christmas cards in lots of bright colors.

Finally, Rudolph the red nosed reindeer never looked so chic like this marquee sign

Merry Christmas & Happy Shopping!

Take Me Away - Iceland

I recently read at Domaine Home that Iceland is the new hot spot vacation destination for 2015. Generally when I think of vacation, I gravitate towards warm weather and a beach that a heavy rotation of tropical drinks can be delivered to my beach chair. That for me is the epitome of relaxation. However,  as Iceland has been rolling out some very chic hotels a long weekend getaway in a cold climate might not be so bad. While the article recommends some very cool hotels near the hustle & bustle {Kex & Marina Hotel}. I did a little research for myself and found the Ion Hotel which is less then an hour from Reykjavik. After browsing some online photos of the resort I was drawn to this review  The Ion Hotel looks like a a space ship which has landed in a very harsh environment but when you walk in the door the decor really takes your breath away." So if adventure is your thing, this hotel has a plethora of it. Hiking, deep sea diving, luxury horse back riding, fishing and so much more. Just take a looksie below at the contemporary hotel with it's sleek design and tell me your not curious what it's like to sleep under the Northern Lights.
