Cupids Cocktails

I have to admit I was never a huge go all crazy for valentines day kind of gal. I do however love having a reason to create a fun new cocktail and share with all of you! As of late, John & I have been enjoying our holidays at home and treating ourselves to either a nice bottle of bubbly, indulging in a luxurious home cooked meal or combining the two with a total calorie fest. So with the upcoming valentines holiday I thought I would share two options for entertaining your sweetie at home with two recipes {one for breakfast & one for dessert} I created for the upcoming Valentines Day. They are super easy, delish & affordable. Extra bonus is that there is a perfectly paired snack for each drink that is equally easy breezy. Enjoy!

Let's start with dessert, shall we! I kept it simple but delicious with a sorbet cocktail & white chocolate drizzled popcorn {perfect combination of sweet & salty}. When mixing bubbly with other ingredients I always turn to prosecco, not only is it sweeter then champagne but it pairs well with lots of different flavors. Extra bonus is it's price point, super affordable whether you are hosting or entertaining for two!

Cocktails in the morning??? Yes please!!! My valentines spin on the traditional mimosa is a bit boozier but equally tasty and you can refill the prosecco before your cubes melt.  Question: What goes better with alcohol??? Answer: Carbs! Question: What makes carbs even better??? Answer: Strawberry butter! Check out all the deets below on you can create this breakfast for your sweetie!

A Farewell Fiesta

This past weekend my friends and I threw together a farewell party for one of our friends who is relocating to the California. While I already shared some of the fashionable details, what I didn't share was the other fun features of the night out. Since I love nothing more then planning a party {planning an outfit is a close tie}  I was naturally put in charge of the soirees decor. Some of the event details I created are below.
an adorable journal for the photo-booth photos to be left in with notes from her friends. Something to read when she is feeling homesick.

giant 3 foot balloons lined the entrance

Cross Country

My husband and I often talk about driving cross country when we have some free time in our hectic schedules  We love to travel and don't mind small spaces so I have been thinking if we ever do get to do it that an RV would be our best mode of transport. That was till I dreamed we put our plans into action and yours truly was driving the RV the entire trip while the hubs slept, snacked & watched TV in the back. So there I was back to the drawing board on another option to get us from the east coast to the west coast without having to search for hotels along the way. Then I came across this upscale air-stream and knew it was the perfect solution for us. Since it was detached we could only enjoy it when parked for the entire night and it could be stocked with all our favorite luxuries to make the journey as comfortable as possible.

While I have already shared what I would bring along for a "glamping" trip, this studio on wheels would allow for more of our usual pleasures for outdoor play and dining as seen below.
How would you travel cross the country???

Weekend Wear - Girls Night Out

Last night I had a blast with a girls night out on the town. While the occasion was a tad bittersweet as we said farewell to a friend relocating to the west coast {we will miss you Meg!}, it was so much fun to relive our "glory days" with hitting up our favorite Boston watering holes. While I wound up wearing an oversized tunic & leather pants last night, I think I would have been happier in the look below. I was in charge of the soirees decor {details will come another post} so I knew I would be setting up frantically before the guest of honor arrived which meant I didnt have lots of time to plan my ensemble. I just love the combination of navy and black lately, can't get enough of pairing these two dark hues together. That lace peplum top is the perfect example of how great these colors look together.

Clutch Heaven

I love the idea of mixing high end items along with more budget friendly items to keep your look on trend without costing a small fortune. So when I saw Gap's new line of stylish clutches, I knew this was the perfect example of showing just how to do it. I just adore the selection bright colors, variety of styles with the over-sized envelope, petite zipper clutch with tassel and the beloved color-blocked. Which is your favorite???

Locusts On Hudson

Confession, before I had the sparkler that has taken residence on my left hand I was already had scoped out a wedding location. While I was completely surprised when John actually proposed, marriage was something we had talked a lot about so I knew we were heading down that path...so I thought what harm would a little scouting of locations before the engagement??? {FYI - John was totally aware I was doing this}.  Locusts on Hudson is the private residence of the uber famous Andre Balazs {also owner of our favorite summer destination}. When I first laid eyes on this estate it was love at first sight. Not only didn't have immaculate grounds, lux accommodations for sleeping, it also was a full working farm with TONS of incredible history, something John & I always appreciate. This location is the perfect combination of country and luxury all beautifully packaged into a remarkable venue you can rent for your special day.  I immediately started dreaming up a grandeur celebration of our marriage and thought this might be the worlds most perfect backdrop for such a special. While the logistics with location and where our families and guests are from didn't work for us personally it hasn't stopped me from revisiting the site to see what fantastic events have taken place at this historic home. Two weddings that had me gushing can be seen here & here.  Below I gave some ideas on how I would utilize the land for a special soiree.

Stop Collaborate & Listen - Prabal Gurung for Target

Elle gave it's readers a sneak peak of Prabal Gurung collaboration with Target launching February 10th. While I have to admit a lot of the partnerships with the top designers have let me down in the past with the quality of fabrics and craftsmanship.  However this pairing is surely looking to be one of it's best and will likely sell out in a hot second.  I am loving the looks below but there are a total of forty two styles you can take a gander at here
